Now, what about if the airline company doesn't let you board the plane if you can't show this damn QR from Global haven. ? Even if you try to explain to them that nobody in Kenya will ask for it.

I am just back from Kenya. It took me 15 minutes to generate my QR at globalhaven. After sending it, it took me 2 seconds to get it. The code was checked at Mombasa airport.

I don't understand all the fuss about 15 minutes work. Just do it.

No direct experience with Kenya yet but 4 trips into TZ post COVID and, from USA, airline has always been happy with paper copy. I do not see anything in the language for that link or Kenyan consulate requiring uploading anything covid pre departure.

No immediate plans to get another VISA but I would / will explore in more detail either directly with the airline or in person at the air terminal (I had a 12 month visa 18 months ago but KY was requiring vaccines at the time so I happily ended up back in Dar).

You can't rely on the airlines and the kenyan requirements to be aligned. Do all you can to make sure you fly for the time being.

Airlines get big fines if you are refused entry and have to return you so they can be strict about letting you fly.

General travel requirement.

1. All travelers above the age of 12 years arriving into the country through any point of entry.

Will be required to show proof of either COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR.

Test conducted not more than 72 hours before departure.

NB: Vaccination means having received the prescribed doses of specific vaccine latest shot.

At least fourteen (14) days before arrival (not including the day of vaccination).

2. Travelers below the age of twelve (12) years shall be exempt from the requirements of a.

Vaccination certificate or Pre departure PCR test.

3. Any traveler above the age of twelve (12) arriving at any point of entry with no proof of.

Vaccination or a PCR test or those with flu-like symptoms shall be subjected to a rapid.

Antigen test at their own cost of 30 USD. Any person who tests positive on antigen RDT will.

Be subjected to entry PCR te.

Looks like vaccine is NOT required IF you have a negative see-19 PCR test within 72 hours of travel. Any non-vaxxers gone to Kenya lately?

There was a big Razzia by immigration weeks ago. They deported a couple of long term resident wazungu. Expired passport. Expired Visa. No work permit.

I heard also the famous baker in Mtwapa was deported.

I never carry my passport. Never heard that it is mandatory.

Yes, this was a razzia from the immigrtion not from the local police and there know witch place to check.

Muzungu there don't can show the passport to the immigration officer, was escortet to there apartment and then there can present the visa, all Muzungus with correct Visa don't pay any money.

By law you do not need to carry ID.

However, a police officer can detain you if you do not produce ID when required if he has reasonable suspicion of something, for example are you in Kenya legally?

So if your stopped for ID you either pay something to get rid of the officer or you go off to the station if you stand your ground. You have not broken a law by not carrying it but you will then have to produce that ID, such as get someone to bring it to the station.

Probably better off carrying something that Kenyan law states. The constitution states you do not have to carry ID.

Because if you don't have that code some companies will not let you board the plane if you can't show that code.
