In Mtwapa and Malindi things are going on pretty well as always.

Casuarina, Cheers, Big Tree, Niez, Stardust, Fermento, Pata Pata etc. Etc. Are filled, especially in the weekends with a whole range of pleasure seekers from all over the world, buzzing around the honeypot of available and willing girls.

Mtwapa being like "Little Germany" and Malindi more like "Little Italy".

The only ones missing are the tourists who used to come with charter flights for their all-inclusive stay in the big seaside hotels.

I did not notice any specific security threats, as long as you take the usual precautions.

I found a quite relaxed hide-out place in Mtwapa named "Sunset Havana" , formerly known as "The Beach Africa".

It is located on a very rustique place at the entrance of the Mtwapa Creek..

You can get there either by walking from the Coba Cabana beach bar when the water is low, or by piki-piki or taxi by road. There are sign posts guiding to this place.

It is a good spot to spend a lazy afternoon, to drink, chew miraa or other pleasures.

The grilled food available is surprisingly good and not expensive at 500 shilling.

It is also possible to swim there. To the right in the bay and if you walk a while to the left there is a real beach.

There are also some cabins where one can spend the night, but I would not recommend these, as they are very basic and the whole place needs a thorough clean-up and renovation.

Cheers is sport bar next to the service station, on the right if you are coming from Big Three, next to the big road.

There are always girls available in this bar, same ones which are in the Big Three. And later in the night at Casourina.

I once asked about it, as far as I know it's not available for short term rents.

All units are for sale only, not for rent, directly from the developer.

I am sure that some units will be offered for rent by their owners eventually, but judging by their selling prices, not at bargain basement rates.

Casablanca night club is also good place for hunting. Striptease bar on ground and regular bar on second level.

Yes Florida that the name of the club I was on about with the casino and the dance show on the weekends.

To be honest I mainly hang around the town as my hotel was there.

Boston hotel, red brick road, 1000 a night with breakfast and girl friendly.

Good bar down stairs for locals; no riff raf!

Hey James,

Casaurina is a well known big club in Mtwapa, the main pimping place for that area.

On the top of Nakumatt mall is also a club. Sheba, with nice Ethiopian food, nice place to relax. There is also popular club in the street level called Lounge, lots of talent there also. Near is also club-disco Bobs, one of the oldest there, in the weekend big crowd, but much less on other days with always some girls hanging around waiting for Mzungus gentleman.

I personally have never been lucky with finding some interesting girls in big tree during the day, maybe I was in wrong period there.

If you have time, also visit some clubs in Mombasa town like Florida, lots and lots of talents there.

If you don't see anything you like in Big Three, you should walk to Cheers bar. That is what girls do, they walk between Cheers and Big Three to see if they find a customer. Cheers you find when you walk from Big Three to the main road, in the same area as gas station.

You also did not mention Casorina, which is main girl pickup place, that is in Mtwapa town. I don't know how much it is declined lately.

Also bars and club in the Nakumat are worth of checking.

Have stayed at Mona Lisa, Big Tree, Kahama etc on earlier trips and always looking for something new, both meat and accommodation.

Have anyone stayed at Giardino be&be? Girlfriendly is the first question that comes to my mind.
