I have 2 banks cards that give me free usage outside of the UK so I use ATMs and spend as I go.
I will bring some pounds and change them when I am here, I will then take that money and put it straight on my mpesa.
Mpesa is an app if you get a local sim where you can load money from a bank card or with cash at an agent and use as you go, you never need cash as everyone uses mpesa. I use mpesa for everything except matatus and boda bodas.

I have an important question. I haven't found anything regarding this so far (I read up to December 2022).
What is the best way to withdraw cash? ATM?
I don't want to bring too much cash, wouldn't feel safe doing so.

Thank you for your advice, little rain will not be a problem. The problem is that I cannot find a health insurance that covers a period of 120 days at a reasonable price. Until now I have only found policies from 300-350 euros and are really too many. Perhaps someone here can advise me on a cheaper international insurance (I do not think the insurer should necessarily be from my home country. Italy). Thank you.

If anyone knows more girl friendly apartments in Mtwapa, Nyali or Bamburi for $20-30 a night, please feel free to share.
I would like to have more options when arrive, or even book in advance.
If my stay is good, I will have more stories to share. .

I could put you in touch with someone connected to one of the hotels on Bamburi beach, secure and GF?
Could get for around £33 bed and breakfast per night I reckon over Christmas and NY for a month.

Posts: 197Don't worry about rain in April. If there is any it is only showers. Generally rain got less in the recent years in the coastal region..The short raining season of October was dry last year. Other parts of the country however prepare themselve for floodings.

Hello everyone, as I wrote in recent days I am booking my trip to Mombasa. Since I will stop from January to April I would like to know according to your experience what will be the weather conditions in April? Someone told that it rains, others say that it happens only from the end of the month. Help me to understand thanks.

Posts: 546Whenever I passed all of the last 6 weeks Cheers was always empty.
The road has effected it but also they just had the same music on week after week. Big Tree has taken some custom from them too.
Nightlife in Mombasa is a shadow of its former self in the early 2000's when Cheers and Casarinha were full every night and then on to Tembo. Even Casablanca and Florida.
In town were good nights out.
Nothing lasts forever.

(New) Cheers announced that they will remain closed permanently.
One of the reasons probably the construction of the new highway just next door, which gives a lot of disturbance and limits their space.
