Thanks Steve German, I will follow your advice in try to stay on the beach north of Mombasa. That means I'm looking for a beach cottage with kitchen or hotel that is under $75 USD per night and is girl friendly. Any recommendations? Where do you guys stay on the beach so you can meet girls on the beach during the day? That is what I want to do. I know Mtwapa has it but I would prefer to be right on the beach. As for Bamburi beach, can't find it! I see Nyali and Shanzu beaches north of Mombasa. If not, I will go to Diani beach unless people think you can't find girls on the Diani beach.

This would be in November. Also, any security issues on Diani Beach at night? I hear there may be some security issues. Feel free to send me a private message. If not Diani beach, what about Shanzu or Nyali for day action? Better? Worse?

You'll do well on Diani Beach during Nov. I like to sit at 40 Thieves in the afternoons and watch the parade. This is by far the best swimming and sunbathing beach accessible to the general public in Kenya right now (with North of Lamu being off limits these days; it was always too eclectic and pricey to be visited by hoi polloi anyhow).

I wouldn't walk the beach after dark though, but that applies pretty much everywhere on the North Coast as well (except around Il Covo)

You'll have way more choice on Nyali Beach and Shanzu Beach, but those beaches are quite narrow and crowded and poorly kept. The ambience on Diani Beach is just so much better that, at least to me, it makes more than up for what it lacks in quantity.

I have been in Mtwapa town where there are lots of excellent furnished fully equipped kitchen apartments. Can anyone recommend the same near or on the beach just north or south of Mtwapa (Shanzu? Nyali? Kikambala?) Under $75 USD per night if possible. Private message me, thanks.
