I have been a member here for a while but this is my first post. I have taken my time and read all of the reports about Mombasa. I will be visiting there in a couple weeks. I have decided to stay at Kahama Hotel. I sent money by Western Union (enough to cover the first few days) because after a long flight from Asia I didn't want to be running around looking for accomodation. There is a lot of great information posted on this site and I look forward to my first trip to Mombasa. I am hardly a rookie as I have travelled extensively in Central America, South America and Asia. I hope the game is the same in Africa.

Short question: I am trying to book my next stay in Mtwapa for September and would like to avoid Kendas Ocean View. Has anyone ever used Kerstin Apartments, Hibiskus Apartments or Danpark Hotel? Are they guest friendly without the notorious walk of shame? Any other recommendations on apartments I should consider this time? Thanks, Bide

Seriously guys, this board is becoming a bit boring. Pages over pages discussion on prices. What for? Are the tons of posts with price information not enough? Do we need to milk this topic further?

Everyone who has RTFF knows what the rate bands are in the market. If someone chooses to pay more than the average market rate, it is by their own choice and doesn't really harm anybody here. I don't believe in the theory that a few odd generous gestures will create a market dislocation.

I think we have fundamentally a division here in the forum. There are the notorious tight wads who have a fixed budget and shag anything, regardless of looks or other attributes and then there are the bonvivants who aren't fussed too much as long as they get prime meat. Everyone is well in their rights to do as they please.

Looking at some of the pics in the gallery I'd say for 90% of what is shown in there I'd not bother and just keep the money instead. For some others I would go all the way. Its just like with food. If I go to a fast food restaurant (which I don't) I'll demand my meal for $5. If I go to a really nice place and have high quality food and a bottle of good wine I'll happily pay $200 if I think it's worth it. The same is true for pussy. You get what you pay for.

Anyone who hasn't tasted pussy for more than 2K that was actually worth it: I don't envy you!

I think pricing is good at least every 3 months to recognize the economic shocks. I agree that the middle class thing is good and agree that one must be aggressive in not giving in to the above 2000 K demand

If you pay careful attention across the boards, as it were, you will notice that the apparent topic of fee schedules, at least when written in a language which is not anglicized Dutch, usually rather quickly branches out to issues in indigenous life and society, availability of ordinary girls and occasionally fun-to-read anecdotes. The money seems to be simply the entree for other topics and occasionally useful information.
