BTW : all the places I mentioned are in Nyali or Bamburi .

There is a wide variety of additional restaurants in the city proper , of course.

1. Barclays (British) and Standard Chartered ( South African/Chinese ) are the only international banks with branches and ATM's in Kenya .Check with your bank prior to departure whether they have fee waiver agreements in place with either of them . If not , you will get hit with

a) ATM fees by the Kenya bank which owns the ATM.

b) Foreign Withdrawal fees by your bank back home.

c) Unfavorable exchange rate by your own bank.

Daily limit is KES 40,000.

2. There are lots of Forex offices all over as well as informal street-corner money changers ( need I say : be careful ?? ) . In general , I find Shaban in the Cheers Plaza to be most competitive .

3. Big Tree or a few others in Bamburi and Shanzu .

4. Italian : La Veranda , Il Covo , Roberto, Arturo
International : Tamarind or Carnival
Steaks : Hunters
plus of course restaurants in all the better hotels .

5. You'll be fine as long as you use the Big Head to do most of the thinking .

In terms of prices I partly agree. Sure we should always pay a fair amount, but please without being abused, agreed? For a mzungu 400 KHS would be indeed too less, but the often demanded 4000 KHS are also ridiculous, or am I mistaken?

Last but not least: sure, everybody has the right to decide what to do/ think/ pay! However, if somebody gives us an well meant advice not to pay more than, let's say, 2000 KHS for LT then it serves exactly the purpose of ISG! If somebody disagrees and pays double as much, well, then it is first and foremost his problem. But keep in mind that it might become a disadvantage for all of us if he “spoils the market”! :)

Sure, you should have no prob finding lots of pretty decent looking girls for LT anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 k for standard service (CBJ or BBBJ, LFK, MCFS). If all you want is a receiptacle for your jizz, you can find such for just a few hundred bob pretty much anywhere.

If on the other hand you want model looks, a personality etc. Like I do. Then be prepared to pay accordingly (4 or 5k). The same goes if you are looking for Greek, ATM, BBFS, FMF, MFM or whatever else you might fancy. That's my experience. And I never negotiate beforehand. I just pay what I feel she is worth after the fact. Rarely only do I need to argue. fair enough, brother! Just some tiny little remarks: if somebody writes "all Kenyan girls ..." you should not take it all too narrow since there is always an exception from the rule. However, if a vast majority behaves in a certain way then I would not have a problem to accept a word like "all"! But honestly spoken, that's pretty much banal, isn't it!? :)

Your's is the voice of reason, Hesekiels , and I appreciate your comments .. What I'd like to emphasize though is that you should reasonably expect a pretty big difference in the findings of somebody who lives here 10 months a year and gets around a lot and has what statisticians would call a large upmarket sample size versus what somebody else might perceive who visits maybe twice a year for 3 weeks at a time and restricts himself to the lower range market segment .

I thought girls could come and go at the Terminal Hotel in Nairobi for a double , not so?

That was my experience. Had multiple girls in one day and it was never a problem.

However I would not stay at that hotel again. I am pretty low maintenance but I have a one roach per room limit.

I thought the Embassy was better (still not all that) but just a few hundred Ksh more.

Steve is right, but indeed "just a bit"'! When I came with my third girl I was asked "why don't you have a steady girlfriend, Sir?" :) However, no problem to bring the cuty to my room after she registered at the reception! :)

Gentlemen; you can´t compare the town hotels in Nairobi with the
beach resorts in Mombasa. Sai Rock; also for visitors you have to book a
double; i´m not sure if it´s possible to change the girl

Lusty is right; these hotels are not for us. i heard also that Kahama a bit more
tolerant.
