Any area locations in Kisumu that you can recommend?

Oh. Welcome. Don't expect too much. Things are changing very quickly. That strip club with the pole dancers has since closed long time ago. Guess the proprietor ran into snags, what was basically an illegal business. Don't think Kisumu will be that exciting now. Its one of the districts which was under lockdown which recently has been lifted. Try the fish restaurants on the sea shore on weekends. There's some pussy to be had. What can I say. Africa is as always full of surprises. As my temporary girlfriend after 48 hours became too clingy I sported a Harry Houdini disappearance trick. I moved to another guest House 500 meters down the road. To sample a bit of Kisumu nightlife before my bus to Jinja departs next day. The area I am staying is the old CBD with a lot of Indian hardware stores. Cheap eateries and accommodation of various types to suit any budget is be available. The area I roamed at night is quite safe and relaxed. First I went to Ram XB pub which is a nice starting point. So far I haven't seen any SWs. I enjoyed a Tusker. But mostly male clients. Some doable Chics but with boyfriends. Than I went to nearby Octopus club which was once a hot night spot. Not any more. Totally devoid of people. Forget it. Not a stand alone destination but worth the break if you're overlanding Kampala to Nairobi.

Spent the weekend in Kisumu. Always been curious as I know many Luo gals on the Coast. I never left the CBD where there is actually very little business going on. I imagine the city lost its purpose when trade across the lake dried up and the streets are wide and empty.

Tilapia lunch in one of the shacks on Lake Victoria and dinner at a rooftop mall.

I saw a few mzungu on the street but was practically alone in the bars.

Not a stand alone destination but worth the break if you're overlanding Kampala to Nairobi.

I used to spend three months of the year in the Homa Bay area. All you had to do was smile and start a conversation and ask her out for coffee.
