Posts: 51I've confirmed the dates of my trip. 28th June to 1st of July. I have a couple of friends (female) which means no mongering. I'm planning to take them to the usual sites - old town, fort jesus, gedi ruins, mamba village. So apart from CasaB and black havana, are there any other kickin clubs going on. I've heard of Causarina, and of course Tembo and Bobs (which always seems to be packed with Nairobi louts). What spot is best for a sunday night out and a monday night out?

I have taken a look at "Glory Villas" just behind Nakumatt Nyali.
( part of the Glory Hotels Emporium).
Basic rooms with fan for 1500, with AC 2000.
But it seems its run by a conservative muslim family, everywhere there are signs hanging saying: "Strictly no alcohol", "No prostitution", " No Mira Chewing" etc.
I don't know if this will make your stay there pleasant.......

I planned to go to casablanca this saturday but the girlfriend wanted to see 'nameless' perform at the lambada in mtwapa. He was supposed to start at 9.00pm. We waited up till 1.00am and left, the girlfriend was very dissapointed.
However she bought her friend along who agreed to pose for some video pics in return for some pocket money. Attached are some stills from the short nightshot video (not the best quality but then this is not a photo competition heh heeh).
I'll try casablanca again this weekend ;-)
BTW I notice young white and single male tourists are teaming up with local men. They dont look gay so the locals may be tour guides showing them aroung and perhaps hooking them up with girls? Saw some at nakumatt nyali and pirates. Would be a far cry from what Jim01 (or was it red rex?) was trying to tell us.

Black Havana is between tembo and nakumatt nyali along the mombasa malindi road.
For hotel in town, and assuming you intend to have fun at casablanca ( i strongly recomment you go there on friday or saturday, i suggest :-
1)Glory guest house bed and breakfast.
1800 for double room with A/C
2300 for double room with A/C and 3 channel TV ( i.e not DSTV)
No extra charge for bringing in your girlfriend.
Located on kwa shibu road just off moi avenue and before the tusks.
2) Castle royal hotel
For a little more luxury
3500 for single bed and breakfast. you get DSTV, A/C, Minibar, Internet for your laptop, safe box and if you want your girlfriend to join you for the whole night just pay another 1000.
This hotel is very conspicious and located along moi avenue. Any taxi driver will know it.
There are other places but these two are near to casablanca and have clean rooms. The nearest to casablenca may not be as clean, i went there with a girl on a saturday morning after watching the true striptease & nude pole dancing show in the inner room of the cassanova bar at casablenca ( yes, they took off all their clothes! No joking! i think the owner of casablanca is good friends with the policeman in charge of coast province!). I paid around 800/= or something. It was just next door ( cant remember the name though, its the girl who took me there at around 3am ;-).
Cheers

I also heard of a place called black Havana. But finding some of these clubs is almost impossible unless you know a local. Some of the cab drivers didn't even know half the places i was telling them. They only seemed to know tembo and pirates.
Any1 know a hotel/villa with a nice clean room preferably with an ensuite shower. Would i be able to get a room for about KSHS 2k per night?? And if possible as near to town as possible
Btw, how's the scene now. I know it really took a nosedive after the elections. [Non-English text deleted by Admin]

She is half taita and half giriama. A muslim with very liberal approach. Muslim women seem to have a particular grace.

Every taxi driver in mombasa town knows where casablanca is.

I'll hit MSA in a couple of weeks. I haven't been there for years and I'll be flying back to the motherland soon (I'm kenyan btw). I'm not familiar with the hotspots there. I've heard of casablanca. Where is it btw? Is a taxi driver likely to know where it is?
