You could try the Comfort Inn, Nairobi on google. They have studios for about $500 a month, or one bedrooms for a little more. Ive never stayed there but its just around the corner from Simmers and Florida.

Yeah. They still issue visas at the airport for U.S. citizens. The fee is $50 for a three month visa. As long as you have the money they will let you in upon arrival. I was there for about a month and it was a lot of fun. I have attached a picture some pussy i came across while there. I met her through afrointroductions.com. We then went to hotel embassy in downtown nairobi off Koinange St. in the F2 area. The room cost about $15 for a self-contained room with hot water. They still issue visa upon arrival for europeans at least, if the same is valid for US citizens I dont know.

The train between Kampala and Nairobi is no longer operational. Dont know how many years ago the shut the connection down. The most useful trainconnection now in Kenya is Mombasa - Nairobi. In december it went 3 days a week in each direction so check out the weekdays in each direction.

Its not really good but it is much much nicer than the bus even if it always is delayed some time

From the Lonely Planet website: An even better way to travel between the two capitals, however, is by train. Kenyan Railways has frequent service; most journeys are overnight.

14 hours on a bus is the thing that puts me off visiting Kampala, but a train sounds a lot easier on the butt. Anyone tried this?
