I'm just back from a another trip to GZ. This trip I had a girl to meet so I had the best of two worlds. in the afternoon after I finished my work I went to the tian Quan Leisure Club every day for 3 hours. I don't know which map you have been looking at. My map shows the Garden hotel on the top right hand side of the map, and a bit north of it the Baiyun hotel.

Then, there is a red bold arrow on the map. The tip of the arrow points exactly at the Guangzhou hotel. The name is spelled in Chinese Characters (Guangzhou Binguan 广州宾馆 ). From the Baiyun hotel or the Garden hotel it's about a 10 to 15 minutes taxi ride (depending on the traffic conditions).

I hope, this is now clear enough. You only need to print the map and show it to the taxi driver. He will bring you there. Sorry, but I am afraid I can't make it more convenient...

You have given a great report on the massage in the Guangzhou Hotel. I have looked at your map of the Guangzhou area but I can't find the Guangzhou Hotel on the map. Do you know is it near the Baiyun Hotel or the Garden Hotel?

Rather than to talk about banknotes in this forum, I suggest to talk about our hobby.

Following some information from the forum, I headed to the Guangzhou hotel on Thursday evening. I was curious to see what can be expected there.

First, thanks to the description I could find the place quite easily. More detailed information follows below.

The place is a "spa" as many such places. You enter through a room with the reception desk, then get to the locker room, leave your clothes and take the towel. Then the compulsory shower. I usually take a round of sauna to get the blood running. Then, after another shower I went to the relax room (all accompanied by the friendly staff).

You relax a few minutes, have a drink or some food. There are even computers with Internet access next to each relaxing chair. The relax room is huge, and there must be a large number of masseuses.

Soon after I was there, a young man comes to me and explains the program. There are several massages, including the Thai massage for 278 Rmb (this includes the entrance fee to the place). Then, he asked me whether I wanted to have "sexy massage". Of course, I said yes, and he told me that I have to pay additional 400 Rmb directly to the girl in the room. O.k., let's try it. However, all my money is in the locker, and I have to fetch it from there (I did not bring any money under the shower...).

A few more minutes later I was accompanied to the massage room, where the girl was already waiting. She had a pretty face, good body and nice rack. Not too slim, but not fat at all.

In the room, she turns down the light, with the comment that otherwise, the people in the other rooms can see you. In fact, the walls are glass - not really transparent, but with bright light, it might really shine through. Strange arrangement.

She undresses me, and I get onto the massage bed, face down. She also undresses immediately. She has really a good body.

Then, she starts with all kinds of liquids in her mouth to lick my back, bottom and legs for a while. Then, I turn around, and the same on the front. Total damage 698 (278 for the entrance and the Thai massage + 400 for the sexy massage + 20 tip for the locker boys)

Note: The place is accessible through the main entrance of the Guangzhou hotel ("Guangzhou binguan in Chinese). Then you have to go to the normal elevators 1-4, but pass them and go to the room behind, where there is the elevator #7 going to the 5th floor, where the spa is located. But you can also access the spa directly, from the side entrance. This is located on the left side of the Guangzhou binguan, if you stand in front of the main entrance, facing into the hotel. There is a big illuminated sign "YKY - Jun Kang Yue Spa". This is the best access.

I know that on the 100RMB notes, Mao's jacket is textured. Many Chinese have told me to rub my fingers on Mao's collar to spot a fake. You should feel the roughness or texture on the real notes. If it's smooth, may be fake. Try it.

If I am in doubt, I rip the note a bit to reveal the silver thread and see if it is real. If it is, the note is at least good enough to spend.

I know that on the 100RMB notes, Mao's jacket is textured. Many Chinese have told me to rub my fingers on Mao's collar to spot a fake. You should feel the roughness or texture on the real notes. If it's smooth, may be fake. Try it.

Wouldnt it be simpler to hold the 50 or 100 against the light to check for the Mao Watermark or the flower in the 10 s and 20 s.The thread running down the side should also stand out.Anybody want me to illustrate how to spot fake Chinese Money???

The crackdown is spreading. Some BBS are shut and a few are still open without any girls in them. One papasan told us that he had his girls in hiding and would call them over one at a time to look at. He said that LE pressure is very heavy at the moment.

Having said that, 3 shops in the first alley in from the main road seemed to be operating as usual. Hi all,

Has everybody stopped going to GZ and reporting back. I have looked at this page hoping to find some new places to visit in GZ but notting seems to be going on in GZ at the moment.

I always go to the health club but I only get a fantastic H/J there.

I have been with lots of sws but the last few were dirty and smelly so I had to send them on their way. The garden hotel area was much better before but now the girls seem to be only rejects from clubs.

And to my surprise the cashier returned all the three notes saying they were fake. I said that is not possible since I had taken money from the HSBC ATM on Saturday morning. But they insisted. That is when I realised that the girl had managed to swap the notes I had kept on the table with fake ones and also probably I had kept only three notes and while swaping she by mistake put four. I looked closely at the three notes with me and two have the same serial no. So no point arguing with anyone. And I am sure the HSBC ATM will not dispense fake notes. So I am sure that this girl conned me.

Now i felt conned. I calculated that actually I had ended up paying RMB 350 for a ST (300 I had kept on the table and 50 I took out from my wallet while paying her) and I am now left with 3 fake notes. Tried palming one off to the taxi guy on way back from the store but I must say that local guys here can make out a fake note by just about touching it. Well if I am able to palm off these notes yesterdays session will ultimately cost me only RMB 50. But that is high hopes since I have seen a friend struggling to palm of two fake note which he does not know where he got from, for the last one month.

So fellow mongers never get into the trick of putting the money out somewhere where it can be swapped easily and watch your wallet for you never know they may swap the money in your wallet with fake notes.

Got caught with a similar scam and lost RMB100 with a girl switching a note earlier this year. Now I check notes by holding at each end, putting the two edges together than quickly pulling away. Real notes make a crisp sound, the fake ones I hacw come across made a soft sound.
