Got caught with a similar scam and lost RMB100 with a girl switching a note earlier this year. Now I check notes by holding at each end, putting the two edges together than quickly pulling away. Real notes make a crisp sound, the fake ones I hacw come across made a soft sound.

Saturday evening reached Gypsy near Garden Hotel. Had a couple of drinks and there were some girls dancing to music on a stage with people sitting all around. Girls were wearing skimpy clothes but very mechanical in their dance.

But at 1.30am came a girl who was 10 on looks great figure, and great dance with beautiful expressions. She was wearing a two piece and a thin see through cloth around her. Excellent performance for half an hour. Understand that this is a regular event. Worth watching. I would recommend the show to all fellow punters.

Post the show walked to the 7 - 11 on the road of gold next to Garden Hotel. Must have been 2.30 am. Not too many girls to be seen. Found a girl from Haunzhou named Lulu. Decent looks (7) and body. Decided to take her for the night. Bargained to RMB 300 for the night. Took a taxi and went to my apartment (I stay in GZ). After getting into the bedroom she wanted the money first. I do not believe in paying first. But she insisted. Finally she said its okay if I keep the cash out on a table in the bedroom. I agreed and put RMB 300 on the table and we got into shower. When we were out of the shower she got a call. I insisted that she switch off the phone but when you do not speak Chinese its difficult to communicate. Anyway it was a short call and my address was not given so no harm done. She switched off the phone and we got into bed. Gave me a covered BJ followed with Cowboy CJ with back towards me. Decent job. I was looking forward to atleast one more pop before sleeping and one pop in the morning.

She cleaned me with tissue and got out of bed. I said whats up. She said that she has to leave. Her brother is waiting for her. I said the deal was for the night. She said ok pay 200. I said 200 is too much and we settled for 150. I was pissed and though it did not make sense trying to make her stay the night since she was not willing. Took the money I had kept on the table. That is when I found that I had kept 400 instead of 300. Though how stupid I am. Anyway got a fifty out from my wallet and along with one of the 100s which was on the table gave it to her. She left and it was nearly 4.00 am so I decided to call it a day thinking 150 for ST was not bad.

On Sunday I went to a store to buy some stuff and since the bill was 400+ I gave five notes of RMB 100 out of which three were the once on the table last night. And to my surprise the cashier returned all the three notes saying they were fake. I said that is not possible since I had taken money from the HSBC ATM on Saturday morning. But they insisted. That is when I realised that the girl had managed to swap the notes I had kept on the table with fake ones and also probably I had kept only three notes and while swaping she by mistake put four. I looked closely at the three notes with me and two have the same serial no. So no point arguing with anyone. And I am sure the HSBC ATM will not dispense fake notes. So I am sure that this girl conned me.

Now i felt conned. I calculated that actually I had ended up paying RMB 350 for a ST (300 I had kept on the table and 50 I took out from my wallet while paying her) and I am now left with 3 fake notes. Tried palming one off to the taxi guy on way back from the store but I must say that local guys here can make out a fake note by just about touching it. Well if I am able to palm off these notes yesterdays session will ultimately cost me only RMB 50. But that is high hopes since I have seen a friend struggling to palm of two fake note which he does not know where he got from, for the last one month.

So fellow mongers never get into the trick of putting the money out somewhere where it can be swapped easily and watch your wallet for you never know they may swap the money in your wallet with fake notes.

Some people palm them off with Money Changers or pay for services with them outside China.I know somebody who payed for stuff in Thailand with Fake RMB and another who changed them with a PI Money Changer.I dont endorse this activity,But If you are really desperate.....

Read my report from some trime ago. I got fake notes from a Bank of China in Guangzhou, so it is possible. It is also possible that the girl was responsible, but the more I think about what happened to me, the more I think there are crooked bank employees who will stack machines with fake notes and pocket the good ones, and there is very little come back!
I just hope for the Olympics that China updates its banking system and cracks down on this sort of crap.

You are the kind of person who caused me to get 400 RMB worth of fake notes from an ATM in Guangzhou the night before I left.

I have similiar experience getting fake RMB out of the ATM machine of Bank of China in GZ. From that bad experience, I make it a point to stop drawing RMB from ATM machine whenever I am in GZ.

There is a good chance that GD hotel and others 4-5 starts will help you pass your fake bills. Be upfront with the clerk, or the front desk. Onsite Filipino workers standing in Toilets will take care of your bill for a small fee. They have accommodated me more than once.

China Bank has also accepted my fake bills, but you will have to talk directly to one of the floor manager, behind the counter workers have for tendency to be reluctant in helping anyone with anything. I have been paying hoockers with fake bills. Enjoy the trade!

You are a twat. You are the kind of person who caused me to get 400 RMB worth of fake notes from an ATM in Guangzhou the night before I left. I was embarassed as fuck when I couldn't pay for breakfast in the hotel, and wondered how I would get to the airport at 7 am with fake notes. I had to brave the ATM again and hope for the best. People who pass these notes should be executed, simple as that, you are all fucking scum who have no idea how close you can come to fucking-up someone's life- like mine.

Having just returned from GZ there was no problem finding talent around the GH area price wise was 200-350. Always need to check that they suck and that is included or you will be asked for extra 100.

I'm just back from a another trip to GZ. This trip I had a girl to meet so I had the best of two worlds. in the afternoon after I finished my work I went to the tian Quan Leisure Club every day for 3 hours. Post trip report to GZ - staid in the Garden Hotel for four days - opulent hotel with a huge lobby. I was amazed at the amount of security at every elevator and entrance. The SW near the garden hotel are quite a few, stopping you at every step and suggesting the standard "massageeee". I was also quite surprise by the number of LE walking about making sure to "control" the SW. None of the SW stood out as possible candidates for some fun in the room. Took a walk over to the Cave and Mango bars both were quite dead perhaps it was due to the early hour of 9:30PM. I was hoping to pick up some talent and be in hotel by 10 to beat the deadline but none to be had.
Wednesday night I did pick up a 22yo SW, little spinner with good English ability - no problem getting into the hotel at 9PM - paid 300RMB for 2 hours and had a good time - very acommodating. One evening took a walk to check out the famous "Road of gold" but perhaps once again the 8PM time frame was too early to see available talent. All in all, GZ did not stand out as good place to monger - much better in HK or KL.

Blue...it sounds like you have weekends free. Do yourself a favor and head to Dongguan. Your hotel should be able to give you travel info. If not, head to Guangzhou east train station. There is a train leaving every hour or so. Read the DG thread. Check intop the Miraton, hui mei, hui Hua, or anywhere and have a blast.

Kagelo...cheap is a relative term. But, i do not know of this type of accomodation other than Oakwood which is not cheap. Try Guangzhou Expat, this type of question is better suited for that site. You could negotiate a monthly rate with a 3 star hotel once you have landed and chosen an area. Many places have internet now, or there is a starbucks nearby.

I am planning to spend some time in GZ for business reasons. Is it possible to rent a cheap appartment there for a while. I want something around 50 sq. M. As I am alone. The only thing I want is ADSL of course. Can somebody from the forum that knows the area to give any info, or links so that I can arrange it? Is it better to book from internet or just to land there and search? This will be my first time there. Thanks for any help.
