2002-2006 South China - Guangzhou

Hi,

Just checked into my room a few minutes ago. Was a bit displeased to find the price was 1330 RMB/night plus 15% (tax? service?), as this is about 25% higher than my agent said it would be, and had to wait 90 minutes for the room to be ready. Also, this includes no breakfast and there is noise from construction activity during the day. Only here 2 nights and paying for it with other people's money so I'll stay. (Grumble.)

The "lodging regulations" in the service directory includes these two statements by The Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau (September 1989)...

"You are not allowed to accommodate unregistered guests in
your room overnight or to transfer your room to another person.

Lecherous act, prostitution, drugs taking and trafficking, smuggling,
gambling, wrestling or any other outlawed activities are strictly forbidden."

Anyone have experience with this hotel? They have staff EVERYWHERE so it seems impossible to sneak a girl to the room. Probably would just have to take her by the hand and boldly/openly walk to the room.

Well, my schedule changed (again) - now looks like after Shanghai I have to parachute into Guangzhou for 24 hours rather than go to Sz. So I ditto Cebu Local's request for assistance....

Where would be in your opinion be the SAFEST place to get action in GZ next week.I was thinking of just biting the bullet and using the In house service.Any other suggestions aside from going to DG???Guys???

I am glad you will be back to guangzhou ,I am not a expert here I find guangzhou actions is a hit and miss and quality and service is not as good as Dongguan ,Shenzhen or Zuh Hai this is a big city and most sauna only offer no full serivce or only offer to regular .

You need a guide for this place or hook up with local expert to go mongering with ,I think guangzhou is a safe city and many good resturant .

I was in Changping last dec during the crack down walk in to the New Century sauna they are closed ask the front desk they said closed for remodeling , I said to myself it must be a raid so I call kelly the mamasan on her cell phone , She came down to lobby to take me upstair and told me they
are open to regular only there is a crack down going on , They are the best
line up I have ever saw that night even got a 2 for 1 speical. so if you are a
experience monger crack down is only on the surface .

Agreed; That's what happened to Member Narsus (Now Tick Tock) they stopped him at the entance and told him they only offer legit services. But when he called me (I was on the way back to Shanghai) I gave him the mama's number and all he did was to made a call to Mama, he was greeted by mama on the entance, brought right into the Sauna without problems.

Those bigger establishment I mentioned are places like KTV, Saunas in Shenzhen - Sha Tsui, Shanghai, where they were raided and closed down by the ploice. If you visit these places now, (Specially Sha Tsui) they are modelling and will be openning up as Restuarants or Net Bars etc. (With special services). You can always trust the chinese for thinking of other ways to get around teh law!

any time and any where in China so firebird either stay home or go for it take a chance you might get lucky.

As FastEddie said, crackdown happens all the time.

But for the bigger establishment, they are close down it will take time for them to renovate and change into some other ways for mongers. However SWs, they get caught, two day later they will be on the streets again.

If you are going of SWs, not to worry, Garden hotel SWs street will always be populated with SWs. Stay around the Dong Fang Hotel or China hotel (across the street from the Trade Fair) there will always be doaen of mamas.

OH BTW: Thanks Eddie; I know about the crack down in Zh and CP too. I was there last week when it happened. But likewise; 24 hours, those girls are back on the streets.

I have read almost the entire GZ Forum for my upcoming trip and already have room in GH. Selected the GH from reports stating that SW are available near the GH. Are you saying that the area is totally "dead"? How about the "Road of Gold" I read about? Any action to be had there? I am hoping to find a nice "freelancer" in Mango bar or some of the other bars for some LT fun. I will be in GZ for a week - I hope someone comes back with some "positive" info. Stay Safe - firebird

I think it would be better for me to skip Guangzhou and go straight from Zhu Hai to Changping? Or would you say a stop in Guangzhou is worthwhile?

Guangzhou is a great city and I loved living there for the atmosphere, food, business ops, and occassional freebie, but for mongering purposes, it's no contest...Shenzhen or Zhuhai kills GZ for mongering options and CP is on a different planet altogether.
