I visited Seibu BBS area last night (Saturday, December 16). There appears to be a mini-crackdown going on there too, but before I go on with my report, I thought I'd discuss my prior visit to a smaller, little out of the way place that has not been mentioned at all recently (at least as far as I could see while looking back over the forum). I figured it's time to start bringing these places back into the discussion as people might be needing these alternatives.

Not sure when the last time this area was discussed (so please forgive me if it has), but it was a topic of conversation the last time I lived in Shenzhen almost 2 years ago.

On my map, in pinyin, the area is called Binyuan. It lies one block south of Shennan Road, exactly between Seibu BBS and (what is now, sadly, the former) Jusco BBS area. It's actually just a couple of major blocks East from the Jusco BBS area, behind the old Book City and Jingdu Hotel.

Best way to get there: Take the Metro to the Dajayuan station (the MixC Mall Stop) and head out tunnel C. Be sure to go ALL THE WAY to the end (do NOT take the other tunnels) until it ends in a T and then turn right. Continue up the escalator and you will be let out on the south side of Shennan Road, heading directly West. Continue walking West to the very next street and take a left (South). Take this short street all the way to the end and you are there. You will need to cross the street where, just to the right, you will see a medal gate above (attached to the 2 buildings you must walk between)welcoming you.

There are 6 alleys (to the left and right), but almost all the shops are on the 2nd and 4th alleys. From the last time I was there, there appeared to be quite a few more shops, now totaling maybe a couple of handfulls. A couple of years ago one of my ATF's was in this place and I repeatedly vistited the area. Now, half the shops had a good number of girls, while the other half had but a few. BTW, I was just passing through about 8:30 Saturday night. The girls seemed pretty good, but I wanted to visit Seibu, so I did not stay.

AS is almost always the case, the area has one or two of those rent a cops hanging around. I've never had a problem with these guys, but still be a little cautious and pay at least a little heed to them.

Incidently, the 4th alley at the East end also has a gate. If you were to walk directly out that gate and continue East you would run into the Panglin Hotel on the North side of the street. It's a brisk 20 minute walk or a quick cab ride.

Maybe I'll try a shop out for size next time, but for now, I hope this can serve as an alternative if you find yourself in a pickle with the other areas that seem to be having a problem right now.

WHICH brings me to Seibu and its mini crackdown. and

I actually went to check out the SWs, as I enjoy that scene. SADLY, the walk just south of the Panglin Hotel had a cop, NOT a rent a cop, but the real thing, posted on EVERY corner where the SWs are known to frequent.

Needless to say, I did not see much (any) action, nor did I stick around to see what was up. I walked around between 9:15 and 9:40PM.

With that scene taken away, I walked over to the Seibu BBS area around a quarter to 10. Now, fellow posters have been saying that shops have been opening after 1AM, so maybe this was not a mini crackdown here, but instead the earlier opening of a few of the shops.

Either way, at around 10PM, not even half the shops were open and they didn't have many girls. I did the walk around twice and hadnt seen anything to catch my fancy. I was feeling slightly down, when something happened to me that has never happened to me in the Seibu BBS area. A little gift courtesy of Guangxi Province.

I've been back at my favorite hotel Century PLaza for a few days. In some ways its better as I don't see the stupid sign regarding visitors after 11pm or so. There really is a Central Govt order to clean up Shenzen.It is related to what they envision for Shenzen.Cant touch on this since It is a sensitive area.But Shenzen is going to be cleaned up permanently in certain areas.For example the Travel Agents who force Tourists to go on compulsary "Shopping Tours" in Shenzen will be fined heavily also.Shanghai will be taken down a peg and Guangdong will be built up again.Expect a lot of Changes For example Lou Wu will defenitely be included in the clean up,Girls screaming massagee is not what the Central Govt wants as a first impression of China

I had a great time at this place a year ago. This was the action at that time.

The hotel is nice, staff is friendly. The only downside is sometimes their kingsize beds are two smaller beds shoved together. I ended up sleeping horizontally across the bed during my stay there. Easy location to get to Hong Kong because the trains are directly across the street from your hotel. But I have always taken the hotel shuttle, and they are very cool about making sure you arrive at the time you want. The service at this hotel is very good.

There is a burger type place on (I think the second foor). The same floor the restaurant/buffet is located. Has live music, a funny kind of Kill Bill theme, with two girl singers dressed exactly alike. You can find girls in there, but talent and looks are not so good.

If you exit the hotel and walk to your right, you will within 100 meters be approached by a tout who will follow you relentlessly, even if you say no.

Take another right where you see the shops and more touts will approach you. The mamasans and papasans are very shabby looking which gives one pause for thought. They speak decent English. They make a phone call and bring to you a choice of a couple of girls who are around 7 in appearance, in their twenties. The fee is negotiated down from RMB800 and they will settle for RMB500-600. And you don't have to pay anything up front.

They then will insist on coming back with you to the hotel with the girl. Okay, you walk back with them, they leave once they see you enter the hotel with the girl. I did this routine twice over a few days. They take a quick shower, wash your penis, and then get on the bed. Both times, the girls performed very well, wanted to please. And each time they both told me, now I will call papasan and tell him you don't like me and are unhappy. She calls Papasan/Mamasan, says the deal is off, and tells them she is coming back now. She tells me to give her RMB200 and she goes on her way.

After they leave, the mamasan/papasan calls your hotel room number. I guess the girls make note of it, because it happened two times. The mama/papa then calls you and makes an apology and asks if you want a new girl. You say no. They also make pitches for travel guides or car service.

So I guess sometimes, these girls are scamming the mamas and papas because they just made RMB200 without having to give any to mama/papa.

I don't know what the action is like there now, but that is how it was last time I was there. I found it interesting.

1. Last Tuesday night, I was on the street across Panglien Hotel (about 9pm). After several non interesting dishes shown by various street mama-sans, I was standing at the edge of the street looking towards the BBS area. One mamasan then brought one lady that was great. I nodded yes. In an instant about 4 police were all over us! They grabbed the girls and the mama-san and maybe couple of other mamasans too. They did not touch me! . This was stunning! As the police were plain clothes type, I did not know if they were goons or the law! I slowly walked away but I could feel a million eyes watching me. I walked across to the Panglien side and saw a white minivan with flashing lights into which they had stuffed a number of girls. This van continued to be around till 11 or so.

2. Later that night I decided to check out the BBS area and not one was open!

3. Previously to 1, I had a great experience with 2 girls from the BBS area. Directions for #1 are third micro alley to the right and the one on the second corner. The second one came from same alley but 2 more BBSes down. Both great. Came to Panglien in late afternoon. 200rmb. I have pics of #1 will try and post.

4. One intersting option was on Monday, at about 3pm, I was strollign the BBSs and found nothing intersting and then spotted a girl in a hairdressing. Massage kind of place ont he main BBS street. This seems to be a legit place and is well lit etc. They asked me in and somehow we struck a deal (despite my 4 word chinese vocabulary! . That she would come to the hotel for a massage. She wanted 2 of them to go and I said no. I paid 50 to the manager. She walks with/behind me and I get a OK massage! Then I give it a try to escalate the situation and she resists. Eventually she agrees but is clearly very very nervous. Asks for 500rmb and I luagh. I say 150, we agree on 200. The session is phenomnal. She came maybe3 times! Very GFE! Moral of the story. You can get takeout and stuff that is not on the menu form such places. It just needs a bit of risk taking.

However, I tried this at a regular massage place (68RMB type) and they flatly refused.

Thanks to the folks who posted about the slowdown in sha-tsui. I was about to make my first trip there and when I read the forum (by chance) it seemed like a waste of time.
