Gents, I plan to be back in town in 2 weeks. Anyone interested in meeting for a drink please PM me. I'd say MyBar is always an interesting place, though I frequent BATS and the like on average.

Chemaras great advantage is the second entrance which comes handy at times and allows you to bypass the main lobby.

Reservation is recomended as often full particular on the weekends!!

The great advantage is also the short distance to the train station which brings you to Menga Besar and the express bus to BlockM, without loosing endless time in traffic jams using the taxi.

Breakfast is buffet style with good choices.

Good restaurants are just outside if you walk towards Sarina department store.
If you want to impress any Indo girl take her there, and she will joyfully be your dessert in the Chemara.

    Have fun

Well you have spelled it phonetically, but there's no H in it.

The best rate I could do was 290,400 with no breakfast. I rarely got up in time for breakfast, so I doubt I missed much. I think breakfast added 30-40k more on.

    Cub 27 a go go.

Due to a major disagreement with the missus last night (I seem to recall it was over whether Dewa or PeterPan better represent modern Indonesian youth culture, Christ I'm living here too long!) and in order to avoid the flying kitchenware I had to make a hasty if temporary departure from my apartment last night. As it was an unexpected event and getting on for 9.30 I did not have a room available so I wasn't likely to see any action all was not lost however as it gave me a chance to check out the strippers at Club 27.

I've been once before but hadn't seen the dancers, I liked the layout though it was quiet then, last night a good crowd of mainly local guys were there. The staff are extremely friendly if a little bit clueless, twice they lifted my drinks even though they weren't yet finished, as the dancers weren't due on until 11 I took the opportunity to head down to Palatehan. My Bar was empty but D's had a fair crowd, a couple of new faces but generally the same girls were there. I did notice 'Novi', regulars might remember her as the fresh faced kampung girl I met a few months back, I know I got a couple of PM's about her. Well there she was red boob tube, lycra mini skirt dancing round the pole up on stage, she had a nice new handphone and was knocking back the Long Island Ice Teas like they were going out of fashion, boy oh boy the corrupting influence of big bad Jakarta town continues unabated.

I also noticed quite a pretty girl in a tight fitting skimpy top, the reason the top was so tight fitting was that she was about seven months pregnant! With her bump and nicely filled out tits on display she looked quite horny, now is that just a natural reaction on my part upon seeing a healthy, blooming young woman full of life or am I just a disgusting pervert? No, don't answer that.

Anyway as it was nearing 11pm I decided to return to Cub 27 to see the show. I got a taxi and asked him to take me there, naming the hotel next door as I doubted he'd know where Club 27 was. After about 10 minutes I glanced out the window to see that we were driving north along Jalan Sudirman, we were going to Kota, it seems I said 'Lokasari' instead of 'Hotel Losari', a definite Freudian slip. As it turns out I needn't have worried this is Indonesia after all the land of 'jam karet', it was 11.30 before the girls came rushing into the place obviously having been delayed elsewhere, Avenue perhaps?

The dancers came out later in short skirts and gold bikini tops, they danced for a while then went among the crowd doing lap dances for guys without actually taking anything off, all very innocent, the guys then bunged them a few thousand rupes. A nice little waitress helpfully directed one of them my way, all good clean fun. They then returned to the stage, removed each other's tops and jiggled their fine bosoms for ten seconds before exiting stage left. So not exactly the Crazy Horse Club in Paris but not bad by Indonesian standards, worth popping in for if your passing at 11 on a Thursday or Saturday night.

I returned to Palatehan where as I recall I pledged my undying love to one of the new barmaids in D's Place, she was very flattered till one of her longer serving colleagues pointed out she was the ninth one to whom I'd done so in the past six months, dammit, time to report back to the War Office. It's 9.30am now and it looks like it's going to be a long day of all picture no sound, all the best guys.

    Mighty Spearsman,

Thank you for promoting Jakarta After Dark <www.jakartaafterdark.com>. I really appreciate it. But Menteng is right. I am not interested in escort service business. Not my bread and butter.

    Viceman,

I am agreeable with Dorman's views. Actresses and models even in 2nd tier are very expensive. I advice you to go for SPG/expo hostess instead. I think the industry follow stricker physical requirements than cabin crue: pleasing personalities, max 22 yr, min 165cm, educated, and english speaking. First class SPG bill 500K for 6 hour shift during exhibitions and GP 500 race.

Word of advice. Beware that many agencies send fake SPG.

    Mighty Spearsman and Menteng,

So ... at last you noticed there are LE around. . They have been monitoring this forum for quite sometimes. Lately I received my silly emails and PMs with questions normally genuine mongers wouldn't ask. After Bali's bombing I think there is this bule who posted message in this thread claiming he got fat discount from Hartono 500K for 3 hrs block. Hartono's relationship manager clarified that they only give that special price to local LE. And this local LE always passed this offer to their visiting guests. I only recall US Fed and S'porean interpol officers.

    Take care!

    Hi JC,

I gotta admit that Cemara is way better. I stayed in Cipta before the Tony Roma or rather the restaurant next door was burnt in fire. The room is basic, but my stay is quite ok. I brought 2 cutie from My Bar to my room smoothly (the lift is right at lobby!) The parking warden also brought me some WL to my room for viewing on my second night.

Overall staying experience is ok, but for facilities, obviously is nowhere near Ibis or Cemara. Ibis is always nearly full, must book first, even Kaha Travel also cant help.

    Hi! MT,

You have lost me here. Don't really get what you mean.

I have made some enquiries earlier, before I get posted to Jakarta. I thought I might get more info before arriving. Nevertheless, I have never got settled in as fast as I thought I could and work has kept coming in... Now, finally got some breathing space, also this client of mine coming, making this request...

I remember you did mention Club 27 before and that's about as much I know.

Sorry if I caused any confusion. Thanks!

Both the Ibisī locations were sold out when I was there. You may want to reserve earlier.

    Cheap Nice Hotel

    Hi Big Lan Ciao,

There are a few hotels I can recommend u based on location

Wahid Hasyim Area - There 4 hotels there, Ibis Arcadia and Ibis Tamarin (RP~350k), Hotel Cemara (~295k) and Cipta Hotel (~250k). This area is pretty much in the center of Jkt. Lots of food, shopping nearby. You can go to Block M or Kota for around RP20k in a taxi.

Kota area - Sparks Hotel is a new hotel, directly opposite Lokasari, very near action such as Taman Sari, Berlian, Kartika etc. (~350k, if checked in by Indonesian)

Pencenongan - Redtop (around 400k +), nice and good hotel.

Yes, we all started out as newbies, and I am happy to help anyone up to a certain extent. But part of me feels that any newbie should write one or two informative posts first, before asking for lots of information, especially info which can usually be gleaned from R'ing TFF.

And I have read a couple of very suspicious-looking posts from first-time posters in other WSG forums that look as if they've been placed by LE.
Wooooh! Guys, cool it. Hey man, sorry! I don't mean to have created so much trouble. And I really appreciate the information provided here, this is where newbie like me starts to pick up.

    Thanks!

I understand, they have a bad rep here in my part of Asia as well. I was dating an African girl here for a while (Tanzanian) and her boss (Rwandan) warned us not to go to a Nigerian-frequented disco lest we end up with the same problems. Most of my African friends here are Francophone and they all say the same thing. Good thing in BKK is you can meet the girls alone, alot of them come as traders to buy cloth and the like. I was thinking maybe of checking out one of the markets like Tanah Abeng to find similar types. Don't worry though, I wouldn't be caught dead in the company of a large group of Nigerian males that I didn't know.

MS, I'm sorry, but I don't entirely agree with you. In my opinion, we're here also to help the newbies. We started that way, didn't we?

    Passports

    Hi XXL,

My last trip to Indo was about a month ago and I actually drove from Denpasar up to Jimbur in south Java with her and got her a passport. Normal rate was 250000rp but people had been waiting there for a week so I gave this Immigration girl 1.1mil and got my GF a passport in less than a day. See the story I wrote in the Bali section.

What I wanted to know is if the local workers at the embassy could be "asked" to fast track the process just like the Indo ones can? Obviously the Australians working there would probably not.
