I've been to Beijing multiple times, and have mongered in BBS and overpaid for the hotel in-room "massage service." Last week I was there and decided to try out a sauna--there's one not too far from my hotel with "Passion" in it's name, so I figured that for a sure thing.

I went inside and was presented a menu of services. I chose a full-body massage. I went into the locker room where the attendant instructed me to shuck my clothes and put them in the locker; I obediently put them away and donned the paper boxers and the robe and slippers, and was led to a room on the second floor.

A young woman came in, had my lie on the table, and proceeded to work me over. She never came close to my nether regions, and I didn't want to push it in case all was legit. When she was done she asked if I wanted a foot massage, but I said "no", and so was shown back to the locker room where I dressed and then departed after paying my bill. Never was there any offer of other services.

I did notice there was a third floor, but I was not taken there. The attendant would not let me take my wallet or cash into the room with me, they had to stay in the locker.

So, what did I do wrong? Did I need to ask the attendant (who spoke no English) for a xiaojie? Could this place be strictly legit, despite the name?

I'd appreciate advice and counsel from the veterans. And yes, I have RTFF, but either I'm too dim or simply overlooked something.

Just before I left Beijing last week, I hit the Chun Xiu Lu sauna again at about 3am. Was so plastered that I can't remember much apart from the big room my accomplice and I shared with our 2 girls.

Forget about the fire and ice, it aint all that. Just pay the whole whack and take control yourself. It gets rid of the mechanics everyone is complaining about and allows for a much better ride. I had a much better time on this occassion and budget permitting, will certainly be spending some more mongering time in there when I get back.

Total damage for 2 people, 150pounds on my credit card statement which is about 2200rmb. That was 1st floor sauna and FS upstairs too.

Ok, enough of China, I'm off to find a brown one.: D

I arrived in beijing yesterday and after a short walk i decided to visit the sauna in chun xiu lu. I went up to the 4 floor and tried the special programm with everything. The girl was o.k. but nothing special (with a rose tatoo on her right leg, 22 years old) and the massage was really bad. She concentrated on the fire and ice thing and rimming. Arrived in Beijing Yesterday and choose the swissotel near workers stadium.
After a short walk i decided to try the sauna in Chun Xui Lu near the pizza hut. I took the all-inclusive service for about 840 RMB 80 minutes.

A cute girl get in my room and started the massage and then the fire and ice thing. She was very smooth but it all seems to be very proffessional and her massage skills are notas good as i had expected.

With a total damage of 1100 RMB i left the sauna after 2 hours....a nice experience but nothing special. I had been in some massage services in Beijing befor and the seemed similar to me.

So i decide to test some other places in the next weeks here in Beijing.

From your description, it would appear that you have paid about the same amount of money on your first and third visits, which were both with the same girl. But you got only an HJ on the first trip, and FS on the third one. Is that true? Or have I misunderstood?

Does the RMB 50 or 60 per hour charge include the "basic massage" service? Or was that only for the room charge?

Sniffer - Sorry about that. The first time I went when I got just the HJ the total bill was under 400 RMB. The second time the total was around 600 RMB. I do not think the 50/60 RMB per hour for the room includes the basic massage, this is just the cost if you want to simply rest in the room. I think a basic, no funny business 90 minute massage was something like 128 RMB.

1) For Sammy, this past week I did go with that one girl we both think is the same from our mutual descriptions. While i agree security is everywhere in the peninsular, i have brought russian* women up to my room with no issues, although reception will not allow any call to go through to your room from a girl unless she knows your full name. Mongolians would also be ok. I can't comment on chinese nationals as i only stayed in the hotel for 1 night and decided on russian for the evening. However there is a KTV in the basement which i have been told offers a wide range of services, so something tells me you can enjoy yourself if required - But i would try and get the girl back into the room before 11pm - just in case.
* = Russians can be obtained from Hollywood Disco next to the Ritan Park.

The Pen in BJ is a great place to stay, but i have never seen it as girl friendly. Granted I was there with my SO, but security is everywhere. If your looking for action, try the Kun Lun, or any of the other nice hotels near san li tun.

I highly doubt you gonna find what you looking for at the PEN unless you are wanting to buy some clothes by gucci or prada
