Now I don't believe that Kamatiputra is that bad, although last time I went was many years back, but I certainly have had some casual discussions with some recent visitors. The kamitiputra cages are of low and poor quality, but in Kamitiputra you can find a variety of quality and class. You always have to watch out for your wallet and need to be street savvy in your negotiations and dealings when you are trolling for pussy.
So usual cautions are important. Regarding bait and switch, you can negotiate directly with the girl of your choice, so I am uusure how bait and switch would happen.

Regarding STDs, you always must wear a condome even if you are paying 5k, amount of maony you pay does not reduce the probability of the girl possesing an STD, so don't play roulette with your life, always use a condom even for a BJ and you won't regret it.

i strongly advise you to avoid kamitputra girls at all cost! they may sucker you in by displaying their youngest and most attractive girls, but be warned, once inside it is a totally different world. they will try to get as much money from you as possible, perhaps taking from your wallet if need be!! they will probably give you the bait and switch routine, the girl you see or want is not the girl you will get, usually of much lower quality!! mumbai police fear to trend as it it run by mumbai's underworld! if mumbai police dare not trend, i would advise a foreigner like you to avoid at all cost!! please pay more, like 1k or up rupees and be in charge,and sleep soundly at night knowing that you most likely weren't exposed to std or aids at the higher end places!

i was in bombay recently and decided to visit the "kamitiputra " area just as a tourist. i was surprised by how young and how good looking many of the girls are; any suggestion that this place is full of disease-ridden hags is just wrong. i was sorely tempted: quite a number of the girls were clamoring for the attention of this american for 200 rupees (about 4 usd). but it was hot as hell in bombay, i was sweating like a pig, and did not relish the thought of getting into a small, stuffy room with anyone.

my taxi driver said there were many such places, and i am going to check things out when i go back to bombay in a cooler month.

Do you have any information you would like to share with us about a dance bar on Grant Rd called TOPAZ? Again, I have heard conflicting reports, girls don't go out, money is made on the dances, etc?

if you are in a dance bar where the only thing they do is dance in saris (sick, where are the topless and nude dancing places?), then 5000 rupees is way too much. (imho). no more than 500 rupees per person and that too over a period of two hours.

In response to mojosaur, was the club with the midget at the door called Campus? Midgets on the door of dance bars seem to be common... if my memory serves me correctly, Carnivale (in Vorli) also has a midget at the door.

I've frequented a few of the dance bars in Mumbai, and Campus has become something of a regular haunt for a few of us on Saturday nights. Does anyone know if the girls there will come out? Almost invariably, they say they will, and will give a time, but when that time comes it just doesn't happen -- they'll tell you to wait another hour or so. I am concerned that perhaps we are tipping too much while we are there, and that they are happy with that taking (it is not uncommon for us to spend Rs 5000/night there) so they do not feel the need to come out for extra money.

Can anyone recommend a dance bar (preferably within 20 minutes drive of Juhu, but farther is OK too) where they have good quality girls who will come back to the hotel? I prefer English speaking girls, but I speak just enough Hindi to get by if they don't. I've investigated the Juhu brothel and street scenes, but I've been less than impressed at the quality of girls.

well i can vouch for voodoo.. .although i was there about four months ago during the monsoon. basically it has a gay night every saturday, and on other days there may be one or two male gigaloes hanging about but it's main business is girls. who are generally quite attractive...there is a fair range from hip college girls to sari wearing naris and they come from all over the subcontinent. i was staying at the gulf hotel next door and walked in not really knowing what the place was all about. there is a 150 rupee door charge. the bar is dark with neon lights a small dance floor, and girls hanging about dancing/chatting, with a smattering of mainly middle aged indian/arab businessmen. you will generally have to approach the girl you fancy, chat to her and the conversation will obviously lead to haggling a rate. there is a dingy hotel next door, which the girl may prefer the first time, but they will generally come back to your hotel room. i'd say 1500 for a short period, and 3000 for the night is the going rate. the atmosphere is quite relaxed and relativelty unsleazy. i hooked up with one girl for almost two weeks as we got along quite well. it was my first prostitution experience and went away with mixed feelings, had a great time however felt aweful for all the girls in the trade generally forced into it by circumstance beyond their control...however the voodoo girls aren't as poorly off as some others, they don't have a boss and they and their clients are a little upscale so less danger is involved. the main language is hindi but many girls have reasonable english, and of course there will be all the other assorted indian dialects. avoid gulf hotel as they definately don't allow this sort of thing. although i did hear that the pub was being raided more often but i doubt it will ever close because its' not a 'dance bar' as such and the owner pays off the cops and gets advance warning of any raid, so girls and patrons are out well before the cops arrive.

Funny, lived 25 years in Mumbai before migrating to US for another 25 years.

Never heard that Chowpathy was the marathi word for beach, the Marine lines beach is called Chowpatty beach and the Juhu Tara Road Beach is called the Juhu Beach.

Regarding the phone #s that mojassur asked for, i dont have the phone #s.

The dance bars are all over Bombay. The ones in Ghatkopar and the Omeez bar across from Bandra railway station are good (at least the last ime I went). Ask any auto rickshaw driver and you should be able to find good bars.

On Juhu Tara Road, most hotels have discos, Razberry rhinoceres at JUhu Hotel and another one (club 55? or something like that) is across the street from Juhu hotel and to the right.

But on Juhu Tara road walk outside the Sea princess Hotel and stand as if you are looking for company after 7PM, that is it, you will be approached and you will see them in auto rickshaws looking for clients.

And lastly i suggest you visit and read the site (although somewhat old info but correct info) india sex guide dot com.
