Seems like there ha been major crackdowns in Taipei also. I was passing through Taipei recently and my fiend took me to our regular KTVs (The one with FS rooms in the same building, mentioned in one of m earlier post), the manager told us to be more careful these days as they are on high alerts.

Actually, the old methods still applies today.

(1) Local Hotels. Short time or "rest" or show xie. Go in, ask for show xie and you'll usually get the 3rd floor or something like the 7th. There will usually be a mommy on that floor and she'll open the door for you. She'll then proceed to ask if you want a girl. 2500 nt is possible but for decent quality it's often 3000 to 3500 nt or perhaps more (it's my opinion that the 4000 nt ones are the same as the 3000 nt ones...).

(2) Strip clubs. YES and Crazy Horse. I think someone on the Taiwan boards gave the addresses. No P4P, but like strip clubs, you get to see titties.

(3) Only one massage parlor offer HJ (for a 500 to 1000 nt fee) and also FS (for a fee of 2000 to 3000 nt). Depends on your negotiating skills and the girl. The girls are good quality and quite young. It's near Liu He Night Market. Sorry, I will find the address and post at a later date. this place has been open for like 20 years.

(4) The canal in front of the train station. Yeah, this is the dirty apartments with hit or miss talent and lots of mommies and papas asking you if you'd like a girl. He'll/she'll take you to a short time hotel and show you his/her girls. Much like method (1) but like the 141 apartments in HK, it's hit or miss. 2000 to 3000 nt. I don't really recommend this method unless you're adventurous.

(5) Dance Halls. Haven't tried, but supposedly you go in and you chat up a freelancer.

(6) KTV's etc. etc. Haven't tried, but what's known and works in the north I supposed would work in the south.

I don't do much in Taiwan, and when I do, it's like once or twice a year. But what worked years ago, still works today. Even the prices haven't changed. TPE's still more fun in terms of play and talent, and there are new ways of p4p popping up. The south's still got it's decade old methods and I haven't heard of new ways of getting p4p.

What I knew on Kaoshung is that it is a very local mongering place. When Iwas there sometime back, I don't see many foreigners (as in Non-Chinese foreigners) and the fun places supply mainly to the Chinese. Things may had changed since the last time I was there was 1 year ago.

Unless someone else have further input on this; you can do us the honor of been the explorer and post some good report on Kaoshung.

These is what I found from my trip there 1 year ago:
(I could be wrong about this as I had only been there once and that was over 1 year ago).

1) If you speak the local language (Taiwanese) you can pretty much get around and ask people to point you the way to fun places.

2) They are pretty much straight up people, so, it is unlikely you get ripped offs.

3) Most of the fun establishments are straight up P4P. I don't know of any big KTVs there.

Anyone has any other inputs?

Just moved to taiwan for work and am currently working close to the Tao Yuan train station. As a newbie here in Taiwan, I was wondering if there are any spas that offer "special massages". I have gone over most of the forum in the Taipei section, but as I'm not sure on the geography of Taiwan, I'm not sure if I should be looking in the "taipei" forum or other locations forum. I also have a couple of questions.

1) I am just interested in a spa location as being new here, I have to live with my folks' family. Haven't to taiwan since I was 15. There was a post here that stated that I should just take a cab, but I was wondering if there was anything within walking distance. I'm CBC but I can't speak any Chinese so I think it is difficult to communicate with cabbies with regards to directing me to spas with special service.

2) I have been reading that the service for a special massage is approximately $4200 NT at ceasers and Tokyo spa. Is it about the same here? Am I supposed to provide a tip? When in toronto (I'm from canada) the room fee includes the massage, but the HJ/other services required extra tips.

3) If I tip, how much would I tip? I don't want to ruin it for others so I don't want to pay too much for all this, so I was wondering if there are any suggestions.
