Hello fellow travelers,
First time I will be traveling to the Sos and am in need of a bit of assistance. Probably will be staying for about 5-7 days and I am wondering 1) what is a decent spot for a single fellow, New gardens or Europa? Since these two seems to be the single guys main residency 2) Is there a nice place under 70 that has a kitchen? Just in case I feel like waking up to some head and eggs?
Thanks to all. Can't wait for vacation time.

Posts: 377Alicia Beach Hotel Nickel and Dime.
A friend of mine just returned from Sosua and stayed at the Alicia Beach Hotel. One of his girls accidentally out red lipstick the bed sheets and the hotel charged him 1,000 pesos=$10 USD to clean the sheets.
Has anyone had that experience?

Bellamar and Victoria House are the worst hotels in Sosua. Bellamar use to be the old Sosua Bay Resorts. Bellamar and Victoria House are the worst hotels in Sosua! The water pressure is bad and cold, the wifi sucks, and they are not forthright about booking. Go online and find many different sites quote different prices. Security is horrible. I had taxis and girls come knocking on my room door as if someone told them my room. Another guest had a security guard enter their room at 1 am. He thought the room was empty so he could hide and sleep. As for linen and towels, they are always late and are not done during room cleaning. They try to sell the property because of the location, but you are better at another hotel. As for the manager, she is never there. You always have to deal with a smart as desk person. There are other hotels in Sosua that have invested money in renovations. This hotel and furniture are outdated, and there is a long walk from the front desk to the rooms. They charge between $65 to $75 a night, but for that price, you can stay somewhere more accommodating. I topped referring friends to Bellamar and Victoria House.

I stayed at Hotel Alicia for seven nights last month. There is a couple, don't know where they are from, that are now leasing the hotel from the owner. They have a 3 year lease. There did a lot of remodeling using their own money. The new operators seem to do everything possible to please the guest.
I've always loved the location because it is on a quiet street and is basically noise free. I think the prices are about the same and still comes with breakfast included. When I was there, there were very few others staying in the hotel.
Right now, and once again, Sosua is changing. But then again, Sosua changes from one extreme to another on a regular basis.
I will continue to stay at Alicia in my future visits. I would like to see the hotel be successful and stay around for longer than 3 years.

Can anyone offer any input on how chica friendly different villas are? Whether I want to rent or buy at Casa Linda, Villas Tisu, or Oceanfront?
Or if you know of any other communities that are OK or definately not chica friendly.
Thanks.

I'm going the week after Superbowl, arriving late night around 10. Looks like Newgarden is booked, are there any other hotels near the strip that will allow you to check in late?
