No need to call, they are open

But if they are full up, just across the street is another small hotel which I like even better. The rooms are equiped with kitchen facilities. Casa Cayena is new and nice but lacks character. If you want privacy and no hassle with the girls registering their cedula, right behind the Casa Cayena is La Perla, some of the rooms are nice. Some are just so, so. That's what you get for coming and going as you please.

If you stay for 3 nights it still might be 38 dollars a night. No breakfast but a muffin to take but clean and cheap. New garden is my 2nd choice but center located. Europa is a few blocks walking but security and air is great with a pool. I like the New garden Breakfast but New garden is for Newbie's and there is only a few women by the pool compared to around 5 years ago.

Point well taken. I will try to tone it down in the future and stop fishing off the NG balcony!

    Hotel D'Piero

It is supposed to be more or less behind Passions.
I stayed at the the'Piero form 12/24 to 1/2. ITs a basic but decent hotel. Pros, free breakfast until 11. At 11:01 it'll cost you! Free airport pick up. I like to walk so the location was no issue for me. Cons, slept late one day and they didn't clean the room when I came down. I reserved a standard, but upon arrival all they had was a 2 bedroom apt. Had to negotiate a new rate. Took two days to fix the tv. Furniture was decent. Security was good. Overall, I won't stay there again. I'm looking for a good hotel in Sosua. Anyone have recomendations please share. I may try New Garden or Cayena in March.

    "Hello!

After almost 2 years since I parted company with the Hotel New Garden (NG). I have spent the last one and a half year working on a number of Hotel opportunities.

With my 4 years at the New Garden, I have acquired an understanding of what is most important for your comfort and those ingredients which make the difference between an ok stay and a great one!

It has been a real quest to find a property in Sosúa that will deliver the quality of accommodations in the right location. After working through a number of different locations I have settled on this one: Hotel Casa Cayena.

I am in the process of closing the final details this month and intend to be in full service operation by December 15th. I am the majority owner and the Hotel manager. I would like to share the good news with you.

The location of the Hotel is on Dr. Rosen just up from the new beach and the park that the town put in a few years ago. The property is not to large (25 rooms) making it a 'Boutique Hotel'.

The rooms are furnished with comfortable king (or two double) beds, flat screen TV's, refrigerators and safes. Bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Air conditioning has been recently renovated.

I intend to deliver the same high quality service that you use to receive at New Garden when I was working there, with some of the same staff. Breakfast will be included in the room rate.

I will be staying on site, so you can be assured that the level of attention to detail will be a commitment of all staff 24/7.

I am really looking forward to seeing all of you again and will provide you additional updates in the very near future.

    Your friend.

    Wilfried"
Thanks for this info Tomjackin. Wilfried is a good guy and glad to see he's finally found him a new spot. Hope to hear more about it as everything develops!
