I'm looking at the weather reports and see that average temp is 63 in Lima. Thats very surprising. Thanks for all the info, and will leave a report when back. I am looking forward to some Cholitas in Cuzco.

I wouldn't worry too much about the hotels not having air conditioners during this time of the year. The weather in Lima, especially, Miraflores is extremely unique and rarely if ever gets above 70 degrees this time of the year. You get the typical overcast weather similar to most coastal towns like San Francisco. However, SFO has a fog that usually burns off by the afternoon. In the Lima area, it's more of a mist rather than thick fog that very seldom burns off. This overcast misty type weather continues for nearly nine months out of the year and keeps temperatures very cool. The weather is one of the worst parts of the Lima experience! If you get a cold or the flu down there, you're out for a minimum of a week!

There are regular flights out of Lima to BA. I used AeroContinente when I booked a flight to BA. It should run you between $200-300US roundtrip. I booked thru Travelocity and it ran me $300 including tax. However, it's not a direct flight as they stop off at Santiago, Chile before heading into BA. This adds a couple of hours to the flight which is more or less 5 hours.

The first time I was in Lima, I stayed at the Best Western La Hacienda which was a 4-star hotel. I only stayed there because it was the only hotel I was familiar with in my price range. It's a nice hotel but the room was very small for the price and they charged xtra for the chica.

I think most of the more expensive hotels tend to not be chica friendly. You might want to look into the Hotel Bruce. If I'm not mistaken, the Hotel Bruce is in the 4 to 5 star range. It has a bano turco in the hotel itself. Logic would say the hotel is chica friendly since you can bang the girls from the bano turco. I think others on the board have had some experience with this hotel and can comment more on it. Whatever you decide, you might want to consider only booking for a day or two in case your unhappy with the place. Hotels are like taxis in Lima, there’s a shit load of them!

TIPS
Taxis:
If your on a budget, don't pay more than 15 soles to get from the airport to your hotel, presuming its in Miraflores. Once outside the airport, you will be accosted by taxi drivers. They will throw a number out to you for their services. Continue to counter with 15 soles til someone says yes. If not, walk past the parking lot towards the main street outside the airport. There will be tons of cabs that you can hail and surely get for 15 soles. I think I paid 12 soles the last time I walked out to the street. When using any taxi, counter their offer with 2 to 3 soles less than whatever was quoted.

Money:
Don't use traveller checks as they are hard to cash and get bad exchange rates.
I would recommend getting cash at a casino atm. I used the atm at a casino called Mardi Gras. They also exchange money at their counters with great rates. I would withdrawal US currency then exchange for Soles inside the casino. I did this so I could easily keep track of my withdrawals and not have to worry what exchange rate my bank gave me. Not sure of the exact address of casino, but it’s located in Miraflores on Avenida Jose Larco between Alfredo Benavides and 28 de Julio. Larco’s an extremely busy one way street. Going north from the beach towards Parque Kennedy the casino would be located on the left side of the street. Or walking from Parque Kennedy hit Larco walking against traffic and the casino will be on your right about 4 blocks down.

Chicas,
Not sure what you fancy but be careful if you go to Tequila. First, don’t over pay the girls as they will ask for 100US. Some of the girls are straight up there to rob you. It happened to me the first time I was in Lima. I was very drunk and took this girl from Tequila back to my hotel. The next day I don’t wake up with the normal hangover rather I’m very dazed and lethargic. I asked the dude at the desk what happened when I came back to the hotel. He said I arrived with a girl and she left alone approximately 15 minutes later. She obviously slipped me a mickie and stole my money (luckily only 80 soles). Tequila is a real gamble. I’ve had incredible sex with girls from there not paying a dime. But I’ve also had to kick girls out of my hotel because they demanded more money from me.

The one greatest tip I could give to you that’s taken me a couple of years to learn. Don’t take any shit from these girls. Don’t get me wrong, I love women and I never disrespect any of the girls I am with (except the time I grabbed that girls ass at a strip club in BA). However, I am prepared at anytime to zip up my pants and ask the girl to leave if I don’t like the situation. I now realize that I’m the one in control and not the girl. Luckily, it has only happened a couple of times, but is something that I will not hesitate to do.

Your experience will be more enjoyable if you do speak some Spanish. In general, the girls of Lima will take very good care of you. Although I've had a couple of negative experiences, the majority of the girls fuck my brains out! Especially if you happen to bang some amateurs. The girls are very approachable on the street or in the clubs. They are receptive to meeting Americans/ Europeans as you are perceived to be their night in shining armour capable of taking them away from this very impovershed city.

Check out www.wunderground.com. The weather in Lima is pretty steady, not cool, not hot, never rains (like maybe a few inches a year) very dry, mostly overcast or marine layer there. I don't recall if my hotel had ac, really didn't need it at all.

Stay in Miraflores, there are many nice hotels, pretty cheap and close to restaurants and clubs. Do a google search, there is a site called Lima-hotels or something of that nature that has a listing of many of the better hotels. I didn't get a reservation, I just printed up the list, brought it with me, and when I went to the hotel, they gave me the same rate, no questions asked.

I know TACA has a direct flight, check their site, www.taca.com. I'm sure there are others. Have a great time. Lima is a cool city, I met local chica that took me on some great day trips out of the city.

Planning a trip to Lima, Cusco in a couple of weeks.

Are the rooms in the Las Palmas Hotel air conditioned? Only the best suite is listed as having AC on their website. Regular and deluxe rooms are not listed as such. Maybe Nibu or someone who has been there can answer. I imagine it can get pretty hot in costal Lima in August, so near the equator and all.

Are the 4 and 5 star hotels as equally well situated and girl friendly as Las Palmas?

Who knows about flights direct from Lima to BA?

And please give me some advice for use on my trip. Thanks.

sorry I forget to mention it is indeed a "long"walk (about 5-7 km) but during this walk you have an excellent oppertunity to check out the local non-pro girls!!

You van walk from Barranco to Miraflores during then DAYTIME;no problem.
At night i suggest a cab. For sure if you are on your own.

Lima has lots of action. Streetho's...clubs....putaria's...take out/in hookers from paper ads,you name it they got it!!
Also a lot of non-pro action...BUT...as I said 17 times before:Learn SPANISH;-)
Also do NOT expect to fuck on your first night with a NORMAL girl....!!!Most peruvians are quite conservative about this.

I can copy for that. One Selva ***** I did in Lima was a real TOP experience:-) She was a blond one with a nice body.

thanks for the tip on the hotel. can you easily and safely walk to miraflores from there? what about the safeinlima hostal? would you also recommend it? what about restaurants nearby? any good places nearby in barranco or miraflores that you recommend?

anyway, we're all taking your advise and heading to brazil, which you say is cheaper and that the girls are better there. i'll be floating down the amazon river soon from iquitos to manaus to belem (the atlantic coast).

good tip on encouraging everyone to learn spanish. as i said in the cusco section, you have to learn the language. the secret to learning a foreign language is to enjoy it. generally, you can't learn a foreign language easily in a classroom as there just isn't enough exposure by only attending a class. better to hire a tutor or spend time with spanish-speaking friends. by far the easiest and fastest way to start learning a foreign language is pimsleur (www.pimsleur.com). michel thomas is also very good and concentrates on the verbs. you can find both with peer-to-peer network programs such emule and winmx. in winmx visit the learn a language chat group (or language central). tell them that dandaman sent you.

Well, I hope things are going just fine in Lima, I'll be traveling at the end of the year to spend a few weeks in Lima. I encountered some web new sites that seem to have some cute chicks, www.peruanitasvip.com is a site that has some nice chicks, also
