I think you will be ruined for the DR after experiencing Lima.

From your self description, I think you will like Las Cucardas (and Trocadero to a lesser extent). HOWEVER, you will NOT like the hours (Troc closes at 10pm I believe and Cucardas at midnight). Tequila and Pizza Alley are more late night options but more pricey too.

Yes I am your brethren and value the information posted here. If you would like to read my posts on mexico you will see that I have experience. The only place I bring girls back to my room is in Cabarete, DR maybe I will feel that comfortable in Peru. I just prefer to go about my own business afterwards. The whole idea of hanging out with a girl and pretending you both have a thing for each other doesn't appeal to me. I'm after the sex and getting off. I prefer to go to chongos or casa's de citas then you don't have someone mooching off you afterwards. Everyone has there own thing I guess. I also try to find places that I can monger and do outdoor activities like go biking/hiking etc. Since I work on computers all day. I feel it's a waste to go so far only for pussy thats why the DR appeals to me because I can practice surfing and 4 wheel atv etc. I hope this clears it up. I would hate for people to think that I'm not sleazy.

No problem purchasing a sim card here. Go to the office of Claro(formerly TIM) on Ave Larco.

The bars generally stay open until the last person leaves. In the case of "Tequilas" usually around 8-9 am in the morning. During the week "Calle Pizza" normally shuts down at 3am.

Last night I was out and the Miraflores bar scene was dead by midnight.

Tequilas normally does not get going until 1-2 am. Every night is different some nights it is all Pro's other nights it is a mix.

You really need to plan ahead and stay flexible. Make a list of the Chica's you wish appointments with, The Bano's Turcos and Chongas. Then at night time you can explore the bar scene along San Martin if you are older or the Disco scene if you are a kid.

Here is a typical weeknight and why you should make plans.
My wife was out of town for a few nights so I decided to go out a bit while I was single. Monday night I went out to watch the baseball and football games down at the "Corner". I was with two friends and our "housekeeper". "M" was all over me in the bar, but I backed off because my other buddy had not shagged her yet. It got late and there was alway's tomorrow, so i just went home.

Last night I went out fully intending to get laid. I went out about 7pm to meet a friend. I was having coffee on Pizza street and was approached by 5-6 twosomes wanting to do a threesome. As I had plans to go to the casino and thought I would hook up with "M" later at the casino, I turned them all down.

I was at the Hacienda until 10pm as a buddy of mine is dating one of the dealers. Needless to say "M" was still occupied with another friend so I had to improvise.

After I went back to my apartment to take the dog for a walk.

It has been years since I had slept with anyone over 25, so I decided to blow off the other two.

We end up closing Z at 12pm and it is obvious we are going to have to put more time into this before we score as they are non working types.

So back to Pizza street to resurect the 4some. Needless to say they were gone and it was "Skank city" We hit the "Old PUB" "the Flying Dog" "Benchley Arms" even the "karaoke bar" on the diagonal, Nothing,nada, dead.

As I will not deal with the Tequila hassle, we both went home.

Can I purchase a pre-paid SIM card in Lima? I have a worlwide GSM phone and usually get a local SIM card. If so, any special place I need to go to?

Was looking at a webspecial for a quickie to Colombia, but the only one is to BOG and . . . . .

But I couldn't help but notice $300 RT to Lima, although with a change of planes in BOG (of course). Sadly I lack sufficient time for a Lima trip, but am trying to get David up to Colombia during the Belleza Nacional.

Artysttyp says he is going for the "local" not mongering, but might mean he just wants to ROOM to sleep in as he will monger in love motels (or onsite chongos like Trocadero). I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt (HATE to ASSUME he is a non monger trying to leech information from the brethren).

You´re definitely out of the loop there. It´s on the other side of the freeway from where the action is, but you can walk or take a taxi. By the way, if you aren't coming for mongering, what are you doing on this forum? There are probably plenty of S.A. tourist forums around which would better suit your needs.

Well waiting till the right moment proved to be worthwhile.I just bought my ticket to lima today for $570 on delta(expedia).The only catch is I leave lima at 1:30 am on the day I leave but it beats paying almost $800/900 for the ticket.

I will be in lima from october 25th till november 8th.Let me know if anyone is intrested in getting together for a chat.

Also would someone be able to verify a hostal named Hostal Jose Luis on Francisco de Paula Ugarriza 727. Not for mongering but for local.I hear you can be in miraflores and still be out of the loop.The cost per night is $10 and they pick you up at the airport if you want.I found it on frommers.com so it must be legit.What do you think or should I just stay at hotels recommended on the forum? I dont like to bring girls back to my room it would be only for myself.Thanks a bunch

i am in the final stages of completing the business plan for the timeshare/apt. rental/r.e. management company i have talked to some of you about. the plan is to buy four luxury apartments here in lima along with a duplicate of “saint’s” ba website (www.apartmentsba.com). there will be 26 shares offered at $13,000.00 per share and there are currently 8 available. if we achieve the projected 50% occupancy rates, investors will receive an 11.7 % return on equity. in addition as long as they hold their shares they receive a lifetime one week timeshare in one of two of our premier penthouse duplex apartments. description below:

both apartments are in the building known as “torre balta” 810 malecon balta, miraflores.

penthouse 1- one bedroom (118 meters) duplex apartment (17 and 18 floors) the second floor features a roof garden/bar/sunning area and 3 person jacuzzi. it is complete with views of the city/ocean/club terrazzas and the famous suicide bridge. it is complete with 30” sony tv/ surround sound theatre style dvd/ premium cable/high speed internet/24 hr doorman/luxury modern décor. upstairs also has a bbq chaise lounges and dining table.
