Thank you for the advice and I agree with most of what you wrote. The funny thing is that I have a good friend who runs his own clothing label here in the United States and is always on the look-out for modelling talent for his shows. It would be real easy for me to get a letter of introduction if I really wanted one.

The issue is this: Models are models the world over. Essentially, God and good genes have endowed the top girls with exceptional looks and lean/curvacious bodies. They know what they have and it does not take them long to figure out how to leverage their assets. So, yes, most of them are looking for a quid pro quo with a big payoff sooner rather than later.

The proven formula for reeling in models is to spend alot of money. Not all of it needs to be spent on them but you need to create an image, at least in their minds. However, the definition of "alot of money" varies depending on where you are in the world. Quite frankly, I do not have the prerequisite financial resources required to chase a top model in New York, London or Paris. However, I get the feeling that these girls are within easier reach in places like Lima and Jakarta.

Another issue is time. When I visit Lima, it is usually for 3-4 days at a time. Baiting, hooking and reeling in the top-shelf girls requires a longer term presence. However, having dated models in the past, I am in no doubt that it can be done.

I have several friends that date "Modelo's", One actually has a "Miss Peru World" contestant coming to his apartment tonight and will be bringing her and some friends to the "Z" Bar-b-que tomorrow. They will all tell you if you try to approach them on a "Professional" basis and then try to date them, you will be shot down. The best way is to get a prensa pass to a fashion show and just chat them up. If you have legitimate connections (rag trade) in the states get a "letter of introduction" and submit it to ACAP as they get passes to all the events. Being a textile center in SA there are events on a weekly basis. Although I have met some quite charming one's, most are interested in furthering their short careers and will only date you if there is the possibility of a big payoff in the end.

There are some real lovelies on the site with Cecilia Bonelli being my favorite and Ethel Torres a close second (though I have not checked out all the models yet). Although these girls appear to be legitimate models it does not stop me wondering how easy it would be to date one. The reason I found the site in the first place is that one of the models is on "myspace"! I am also curious as to what rates are being asked for a modelling gig.

The holiday season is here and I used some of my free time between Christmas and New Year to surf the web for new and interesting stuff. I came across a website that is probably already well known to the Lima and Peru experts. Still, not having seen it mentioned in the Peru thread I thought it would be worth a post.

In peru your roll as passenger is different from other country. The passenger set the fare. Ever notice taxi comes by, talk to the passenger, drive away. The passenger is telling the driver, I would like to pay x soles to bring me to Y. If the driver accept, the passenger jumps in, if not. Next taxi.

It's funny you should say that. My main non-pro in Lima paid US$20 to pick me up from the airport in a taxi. Leaving the airport going to the hotel she secured a price of 20. I thought she meant soles, but it was dollars. I was pissed at her. When it was time for me to go, I flagged a driver down and negotiated with him to take her home and afterwards drop me at the airport for only S/25. And I am American and speak only enough Spanish to get by.

For the record, there is no entrance price to Relax y Vida. Zero. A massage and sauna session incl. BJ and handjob (approx. 60-90 mins depending.....) costs 70 soles, PLUS a propina which should not exceed more than 40-50 soles.

You can also elect to get a massage only, for 35 soles for 30 mins. BJ and handjob as well, if you can hold a decent conversation or make them laugh. None of this is new. Been this way for a while.
