I have been a big fan of "elevator shopping" ever since I scored consostantly well in Hong Kong. I stayed at Holiday Inn, Golden Mile. Anytime after 8:00AM, you could always make a good selection by standing near the ground floor elevators.

For mongers partial to young latinas, Lima is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I was in Lima last week and the week before. You just know that one way or another you will not sleep alone at night unless it is by choice. Well, Cat I dont see all 60 plus women so you might not be on the Bill Gates, rich mans track just yet in terms of buying stock. jeje But I have a process much like any other job process, where I return phone calls, take notes and find out which country their from, age, easy to talk to, how many kids, if their space cadets and so forth. The response is enormous, over 60 plus responses everytime I do it , what I do is interview the respondents at Starbucks and weed out the good ones. So I figure Ill do the same there in lima, I beleive its a far beter strategy than online ads, mainly its because online ads are too easily accessible, any foolita at a cybercafe respondes and giggles afterwards and the very nature of them is annonimity which I believe is why some of you guys were getting alt of "no shows" when you arrived in Lima. Belive me I know nothing is fool proof but with an ad or "aviso" Ive gotten far better results. That brings me to my problemo, I have nobody that can place the "personal ad for me".

If by chance David_33 or LIma_Busy can place an ad for me in El Commercio I would appreciate it. of course Ill Pay for it. Do they have a special section for this in el Commercio? I plan to be in Lima for 6 months or more and Im not leaving pussy prison till June or July, Im just trying to plan ahead and have all of my ducks in a row.

I just returned from three wonderful mongering-laden days in Lima.

So many firsts for me on this trip. After half-a-dozen or so trips to Lima, I finally met LimaBusy (A great guy), visited Calle Pizza (A target-rich environment in the evenings), visited Tequila Rocks (Last resort but a sure thing), visited the Bierhaus in Barranco (Full of non-pros but not the best destination for someone in their forties like myself. If you are in your twenties you are just about guaranteed to score in my opinion), visited the Flying Dog/Tacos Bar (Like the proverbial Forrest Gump box of chocolates, you never never know what you are going to get), dined at the Rosa Nautica (Inexpensive by US standards but unaffordable for most Peruvians and absolutely the best place to go if you really want to impress a chica. Wait for a terrazza table for maximum effect; it is worth it) and hung out at Cafe Zeta (High percentage of gringos). I also picked up a waitress from Calle Pizza; a specific objective that I had set myself prior to traveling down there. And then there was the gambling. I visited the Marriott Casino on three separate occasions and the blackjack/roulette gods were really smiling; I walked out with winnings each time! A 3-visit winning streak has never happened to me before. To say that the trip paid for itself would be an exaggeration. To say that one or two chica dates effectively cost me nothing would be more than accurate.

To World Travel 69: Please add the Huaringa Bar, located on Plaza Bolognesi, to the list of non-pro pick-up places in Miraflores. Huaringa attracts a higher class crowd than places like the Bierhaus and Flying Dog. It is closer to a Larco Mar crowd, I would say. I have it on very good authority- someone who knows Lima far better than I ever will- that a visit to the Huaringa bar can reap dividends. I visited the place briefly on my first night and there were many people there but I did not stay around long enough to score.

There were a couple of disappointments and near misses on the way but, overall, the trip was well worth the investment in time, money and effort. The disappointments were, invariably, related to chicas with whom I spent considerable time online and who then failed to show at the allotted time or even answer their telephone. I have learnt from previous experiences that when meeting chicas online, the airline approach works best: take bookings for 130% of capacity on the assumption that at least 30% will not show up. This works well. However, given the ridiculous ease of connecting with chicas in Lima, I am considering abandoning the online approach altogether. It represents too much time and effort expended on something that is easily accessible in-country. I also draw your attention to a message titled "Cybercupido", posted earlier today by Tiny12 in the "General Info" thread of the Peru section of this board regarding one of the pitfalls of online dating. I manage to avoid the particular problem he describes by being up-front regarding my intentions but my success rate suffers dramatically as a result. I used to like Cybercupido but now agree with Tiny12 who describes it as a "monumental waste of time". My membership expires in less than a month and I will not be renewing. It all boils down to this issue: Are you comfortable travelling down there without having anything lined up ahead of time? For me, the answer thus far has been "No" but I am getting more comfortable with the idea with every trip.

Speaking of online connections, Sadith and I met on an online site and have been chatting, on and off, for a couple of weeks. I decided to call her on the spur-of-the-moment when I arrived in Lima and spent the better part of a day with her. Sadith is 20 years old, lives at home and is a real sweetheart.
