I've also sent Jackson an email explaining the problem and suggesting some possible reolutions. The FKK section, which I sometimes frequent, is also due for some long overdue cleaning.

I'm not sure which of the suggestions, to section off the Other Partytreffs thread alphabetically or regionally, would be a better solution. I see some problems for both (Example: How would someone know looking under M, or looking in the Duesseldorf area clubs know that Mettmann is not in either of those but has its own thread?). It's not only a problem for newbies; I have been travelling to Germany for years and still get confused by the PLZ numbers.

Grouping clubs by named regions i.e. Dusseldorf/Koln also has its pitfalls for the geographically challenged; How would someone know that NLG located in Wuppertal is listed with the Duesseldorf area clubs?

And with clubs changing ownership, business model, and names so frequently posting a club as sauna club X, which then changes its name to Pauschal club Y, and ends up as Partyteff Z, will wreak havoc with any alphabetical listing.

The simplest solution is to give every club its own thread but that too could create an unmanageable and inconvenient database and would not solve the problems caused when clubs close or change their names as frequently as we have seen in the last 5-6 months. Jackson doesn't spend alot of time on this thread, and I believe, has never been to a PT or FKK. It's probably just as confusing for him.

One possible solution which I suggested to Jackson and have no idea if he'll agree to, is for someone here (HINT, HINT WK) to volunteer to administer the PT section of the forum.

Everyone with an opinion should weigh in, not here in the open forum discussion, but by clicking on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom right hand side of this page and sending an email to the forum administration. I've found that it's the best way to get results.

I only mentioned PLZ as a shorthand for location. I don't think PLZ on its own works well. Its not just that readers need to understand what a PLZ is, they (and I also) will not generally know eg PLZ 42x from PLZ 43x.

I also note that I am arguing against my earlier arguments where I have grouped my reports for PC's Dortmund/Muenster/Bochum under one heading. No solution is perfect.

PTs are also very concentrated geographically, so a simple list of German PLZ's 0-9 would be hopeless.

Maybe we should evolve here a suitable breakdown that might be setup.

Plover I have changed my mind about your proposed system and think this would be confusing especially for newbies. You will find guys will post stuff in the wrong areas. I think my proposed system (see below) is more straight forward, and clubs dont change name that much. Also if they do change name then the new name will be added to the appropriate thread.

There is no perfect system, and its hard to know if Jackson will make any changes anyway.

The ideal system would be to have a moderator who knows whats happening in the PT world, and get that person to add threads for new clubs, and then delete threads of clubs that close down.

If you already know the name of the club you want to read about, you'll probably also know the location, so in this case the classification by PLZ is as practical as the alphabetical one. While if you're looking for clubs in a specific area, only the PLZ classification will spare you the hassle of having to search through all of the threads. And, as Plover 23 has pointed out, the history of a club will stay in a single thread, no matter how many names the club changes over time.

WK, I defer to your extensive knowledge, but wouldnt it be a problem that many of the PTs seem to change their name every couple of weeks.

I have had this problem with my posts for PC Dortmund (ex Airport) that I have filed under Pitstop (now PC Muenster).

You are right about the proliferation though.

Dear Jackson,

The thread "other partytreffs" is getting way overloaded and reports are being buried too fast. Due to the way partytreff clubs come and go so quickly, there is no point in giving them their own threads anymore I think.

I suggest we have additional other partytreff threads like this:

Other partytreff clubs named A - D
Other partytreff clubs named E - H
Other partytreff clubs named I - L
Other partytreff clubs named M - P
Other partytreff clubs named Q - T
Other partytreff clubs named U - Z

and also a seperate thread for Swingers clubs.
