Isaan Region (including Udon Thani, KK, Khorat)

The small karaokes in the vicinity of the Siam Boutique Hotel on Injannarong Road have now all gone. So too have the girls that either used to live upstairs or in the small soi opposite the Siam Boutique Hotel. There would always be a few girls available during the day. I would imagine that the girls have in the main re-located elsewhere, but I have not found any girls for play during the past 2 months either in this area or indeed at the train station at night. Can anyone provide any information?

For the past 3/4 years the former karaoke just up from the Siam Boutique, has been a teke-away brothel, with girls available 24 hours a day Just this last week the shop has been emptied and closed up. Found a former inmate today, but she did not know where all the girls had gone too. Anyone any ideas?

Are any of the small girly bars in Nong Khai open these days? Will be in Udon Thani in a few months and hoping to get to Nong Khai for a couple nights.

I was in Nong Khai last month and most of those bars were open. I wasn't looking for a girl as I had a companion with me but I got this advice from an extremely reliable source. Stop by Jimmy's Restaurant across the street from the White Inn during the day. The #1 mamasan in town who pretty much handles almost all of the town's girls hangs out at Jimmy's during the day. Befriend her and she will be a terrific source for girls for you. If she's not there Jimmy's has decent western food.

I'm not expecting Bangkok or Pattaya or Phuket, but if one were going, say with a friend, and wanted some nightlife, even if its low key, where would one go?

Yes, I did mean Udon Thani. Surat Thani, wrong place.

Go to the bars along Samphan Thamit Alley, in particular the Udon Day and Night Bar Complex on that street.

Its just near Central Udon mall shopping centre and the bus terminal.

You can also walk from there to the Night Markets for food and shopping, then to the Thai beer bars and nightclubs along Thongyai Road.

Lots of freelancers and hostesses to be found along there.

Udon Thani is in my opinion the pick of the Isaan places, much more available than in Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Korat and Buriram.

I second this. If I had to go to Isaan it would be to Nong Khai. Skip Udon Thani.

If you nit been to Chiang Rai that would be a nice side trip.

Hi all, heading off to LOS for the first time in 3 years next month. Just booked.

I am thinking of getting out of Pattaya for a few days to a week, to go to Issan somewhere.

For a mix of mongering nightlife and just in general, which city is worth going to?

The Park is where the Ya Mo monument is. Between Ratchadamnoen and Chumphon Rds, Have a look at Google Maps. Used to be a park with grass, trees and bushes in the middle of town, but now just a concrete jungle. Sit on one of the many seats and the girls will find you.

A few msasage parlours and 2 soapies in Surin. Freelancers hang around near the station, and the 7/11 opposite. Most rather on the old side though.

Where to find the girls that look like the fair Chinese? I heard they are mostly in northern areas such as Chian mai. Now I read this forum to see Udon thani has them. Can anyone tell me best places to be in the northern Thailand?
