I flew from Honolulu, Hawaii to Lima, Peru for only 30,000 American Airlines miles. I had to stopover in DFW & MIA for a few hours but free is free! I was charged a slightly higher air tax than usual but later discovered that it included the departure tax from Lima Airport.

Hi,
Just booked a flight to Lima via LAN from Miami nonstop RT for $358.
Am really looking forward to visiting Lima. I am still undecided on where to stay, the Maria-Luisa or an Apart-Hotel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, and hope to see you there.

Just returned to Lima from Medellin. At the Maria Luisa for 3 days.
Flights on LAN to Medellin via Quito are still a great value. PM me if you are in town or have suggestions.

Posts: 247Missed meeting Tabu and girls
Hi Psychman,
Sorry you couldn't come down to the lobby to see Naty and Sara (Tabu's Friends) so that you could add an opinion to Tabu's credibility or the quality of girls he had that day.

Frequent travellers may already have this knowledge but for us naifs it may be useful:
Delta has a partnership with Northwest (and may merge), and with Continental airlines. Northwest has a partnership with Continental as well. Continental has a partnership with Copa airlines. Copa is an "associate" with Delta's skyteam alliance.
Which means that you can often persuade any of the above using their frequent flyer miles to get you booked on any of the above flights.
One for instance is that if Delta is offering you a trip from the Sex Prison to Lima for 52,500 miles you can often get onto Continental for 35,000 miles. Another, if Northwest offer you a coach for 70,000 miles you can sometimes get a first class on Copa for the same. (Note that Northwest's South American routes suck and they invariably book you on Delta or Continental "codeshare" flight anyway.)
Worth trying. The collective may not catch up!
Suerte!

It has already gotten cold in (Miraflores) and as it is another La Nina projections are that it will be colder than last winter. I would recommend that you look for a apartment with heat or buy a couple of space heaters when you arrive!

Posts: 706Having a problem with hotel.
I normally stay at the San Marten Hotel in Miraflores. They recently raised thier prices, so I'm looking for alternatives.
Can I find a nice apartment or apart-type hotel in this area of Miraflores for @ $50 U.S.? Obviously it needs to be Girl friendly and internet in the room, a/c is not a must now.
Thanks
