I found a good deal at the Ibis on Beenconen. Anyopmne has been there? i assume it's GF, but do not appreciate how far it is form OT, and also about the MRT connections with Geylang...
    Any one with some advice?
I've stayed several times at the Grand Central, behind the Le Meridien on Orchard. Girl friendly and even has a pretty decent health club where I've gotten FS. It's close to MRT and recently remodeled. A bit of a walk to OT, but not bad.

    Presumably you mean Bencoolen Rd??

This would be near Douby Ghaut MRT, a couple of stops from Orchard, but you would have to go to City Hall and change for the EW line to get to Kallang/Geylang.

Singapore hotels are getting cheaper recently. Check out wotif.com - it has rates and maps the hotel locations.

Nope, I'm talking about the Mandarin Oriental, which is at 5 Raffles Avenue, and basically next door to the Marina Mandarin. Never been to the MM but stay as often as I can at the MO.

There are indeed several 'Mandarin' hotels in Singapore, but the OP specifically cited the "Mandarin Oriental".

    GF hotels

THis seems to be a regular question from newbies who don't RTFF.

Unless a hotel has a publicised "no visitors" policy, I doubt they would be able to stop you bringing girls back to your room. As long as there is a double bed, the room would be approved for two people to use, and you have paid for this.

At most of the larger hotels the reception staff are usually too busy to take much notice of who comes and goes, even if the elevators are in viewing distance. As the staff would be changing regularly, it is unlikely any one receptionist would be aware of who every patrons was, what room they belonged in, and whether they checked in with another person.

Perhaps the security people might have a bit of a snigger as they track your movements on the CCTV, or you have a grope in the elevator, but these guys will really only be interested if you do something illegal - they will have seen it all 1000s of times before.

Don't be shy, go out and enjoy yourself.

Unfortunately there's no discrete entrance so as to avoid the Walk of Shame, which is more like a Parade of the Punter seeing as how the reception desks are positioned to have a full sweeping view of the entrance and the elevator area.

Great report JJB! Glad to hear you had a good experience. There are definitely some nice girls out there if you look hard enough and get a bit of luck.

Is that the one on Orchard Road? If so, I had to register my guest when I stayed there. As noted by Mouse, just about any place will admit guests, though I've been to a number of places where no care was given to checking or recording ID, including a number of five stars.

I may be completely wrong, but I don't think any hotels in Singapore have a problem with o/n guests, provided their ID is checked and recorded.
