Do you mean the girls who work at the bar - the waitresses etc employed by the hotel?

Or just 'working girls' who hang around the bar, use it as their base between jobs?

I've never stayed there myself but have read some reviews on other sites. They were not very good.complained of rooms being old and dirty. Not cleaned well and staff with bad attitude. Also think it was alluded to rooms being used for ST activity from nearby Fili bars. But not sure. And of course it is only some other person's opinion.

I used to stay there quite often but recently the Mercure Roxy has been offering better deals. The hotel is old and the plumbing and electrics are pretty tired but they made an effort to improve the club rooms and they were actually pretty good. You certainly get more room for your buck than on Orchard Road. And the food sux.

Try to get a rate with internet included - their charges can get a but rich.

There is NO ST activity in the hotel but there are possibilities with the gals from the bars downstairs after they finish work. The elevators require a room key so you need to go and meet your date at closing.

Anybody stay at the Paramount hotel recently? I remember from this forum that there are some interesting "opportunities" in the attached mall, and that many girls from OT stay here, which I figure could work to my favor in any LT negotiations. However, I want to make sure the accommodations are decent. Any pros/cons would be appreciated.

What are the odds of getting lucky in the Sheraton Towers. They do have a spa. On line it looks a little high end. Friendly Planet helped me out with some good advice on OT by cab and S$100 back to the hotel for ST. Any other's ever stay there. I did not pick the hotel. It was a Biz thing. Be there for about 6 or 7 nights. Is it Girl Friendly?

Funny- I've gone to the Grand Central 5-6 times, but never stayed for more than an hour. Ever wonder who those Russian girls hanging out by the pool were doing there?!

I checked traveller's views on tripadvisor about this hotel, and it was less than complimentary.. I guess it may be fine for the kind of activity that you have in a mere one hour, but not necessarily for a 2-3 day stay..
As an aside, besides the good advice from ISG mongers, obvioulsy focused on the hobby, it's a good idea to read other "normal" traveller's views for a m ore general assessment. For insatnce, all travellers said the breakfast at the Grand Central was ordinary and very crowded...
Anyway, thanks again for the advice, I still have to assess on Anson Road the Millenium, but i think i will stick to the Ibis, sort of easy access to both OT and Geylang.

I've stayed several times at the Grand Central, behind the Le Meridien on Orchard. Girl friendly and even has a pretty decent health club where I've gotten FS. It's close to MRT and recently remodeled. A bit of a walk to OT, but not bad.

I would like to use my own room in the hotel. I have traveled a bit to Costa Rica, China, Bangkok, and Taiwan but not Singapore. Just trying to get a game plan to work from.

Orchard Towers is less than 5 minutes away by cab- you should be able to get ST for S$100 back at your hotel

Any of you have experience with Copthorne Orchid hotel?Is it girlfriendly and what about its standart.I plan to stay and bring girl from OT.

I stayed there about 3 weeks ago. Reception staff friendly. Room double bed ok. Shower/bath a bit tired but overall ok.

Lifts in full view of reception in main building but should be ok as lots of people in reception.

Massage salon men only on site close to reception. $50 for 40 Mins. Massage lady very cute early 20 came in dress wearing highish shoes chinese said from Malaysia probably PRC so good after hard massage then soft finger tip touch i came spontaneously. Then offered extras not specified a bit late. So I gave her $20 tip.

About $10 taxi from OT. A very long walk.

Hotel Question. First time for Singapore on Biz. The thing is I am staying at the Sheraton Towers. I like to have things happen at my own hotel. Can anyone help with some advice. This is a first time post so I hope I am in the right area for this type of question.

Presumably you mean Bencoolen Rd??

This would be near Douby Ghaut MRT, a couple of stops from Orchard, but you would have to go to City Hall and change for the EW line to get to Kallang/Geylang.

Now that I have found the location of the Ibis (it wasn't on my old map), you could walk about the same distance to Bugis MRT to get direct to Kallamg

I am trying to book a hotel for a 2 night stay in January. Having already stayed in the past at the Orchard, and also at the Orchard parade, I tried those 2, but found the prices pretty steep. I had also stayed one in geylang at a Hotel 81, but fancy a slightly better place this time.

I found a good deal at the Ibis on Beenconen. Anyopmne has been there? I assume it's GF, but do not appreciate how far it is form OT, and also about the MRT connections with Geylang.

Any one with some advice?

Milleneum in Anson Road is convenient. You can go to the elevators straight from the taxi drop on the Anson Road side without going through the reception. Tariff also not steep. MRT is close by.

...for your advice on hotels. I will check Grand centtral, and also wotif.com. if unsuccessfull, I'll stay at Ibis, after all, a few MRT stops is not the end of the world.
