Sorry I just thought it was not a good sign. I must admit an awful lot of people eat there and that would not be the case if they all got sick. Just wanted you all to know what I saw.

    rodents

I agree with you LittleBigMan in that in any big city anywhere in the world you can have those rodents everywhere and anywhere. They don't confine themselves to anyone area as they go where they want as you just might not spot them in some areas. I've seen them in the streets near the Nana Plaza and close to the mobile vending carts. That doesn't stop people (locals or foreigners) from eating as the food is good and inexpensive.

Don't think for a minute that the BigMac near your hotel is anymore free of rats than that corner. If rats are in that area then I sugguest people better think twice before they eat at the outside stalls that line that block at night.

I can only tell you that the one time I ate at this place, the food was great and the steam fish in mild tom yum was good and didn't have a smell. The food court across from the Biegarden I would never eat seafood after seeing my brother and friend shit for a good day after they had the oysters! The best one can do is if it smell good and the price is right and someone recommends it I'm in!

Thanks for the heads up! LBM

    Secure Parking

I will be travelling throughout Thailand for 3 weeks in February, so I hope to experience the LOS and post when I return. However, this is my first trip to Thailand and I need some info. We need to park a car for a few days while we visit Bangkok (it's a long story). Are there 'secure' parking facilities in Bangkok? We are planning to stay in the Riverside area, near the Shangri-la. The hotel we are booking says there is parking across the street at 40 baht/hour. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks (if this is better posted elsewhere, please let me know)

    Thai Food,

There is a resturant down from Therma's on Soi 15, it is right on the corner and it looks like a hole in the wall. You sit inside and their are no doors nor are there prices on the menu. Last year I visited BKK with 4 people we ordered 8 dishes along with rice and soup. Most of the 8 dishes were seafood and 1 round of Leo beer the food was great. I saw only locals eating and when the bill came 1000 baht not bad for seafood in BKK.

You are right. When in Thailand eat Thai.
A girl with me had a Thai dish and it was O.K.

If you're going to stay at that location, that far from Sukhumvit, I would recommend the CitiChic, about a block away where Soi 11 & Soi 13 meet. It's nicer, and the rooms are quite spacious and well appointed.

So great Hotel except for the daytime chef needs firing.

    Dynasty Inn Grande

I'm staying here at Dynasty Grande again. The rooms are very nice with huge modern bathroom. Rooms have wired Internet free and free wifi downstairs.

Nice pool outside. Was a hot Thai girl at the pool yesterday with her Farang boyfriend.

Beds are wonderfully soft but firm enough. TV has channels from many countries including an Aussie channel (I'm Aussie).

The price for is quoted including all the taxes so you know the real price.
Was somewhere like 2800 Baht per night.

2 very pretty girls on the front desk. The gay bellhop thinks he's pretty too.

Breakfast is not included. But thats a relief. I would drink downstairs but seriously the food is poor. I would eat somewhere else. The chef needs to be sacked.
    1. Ordered an Omelete with lots of different fillings. When it came was difficult to find the fillings as the quantity was incredibly stingy. So it was virtually a plain omelette.
    2. Next time ordered a Salmon steak with spicy orange salsa dish. The salmon piece was small. The salsa had no tomato (I expected orange and tomato) in it and was not spicy. The fish sat on a mass of fettucinni that wasn't properly cooked. There were some green salad. The whole thing was drenched in a strong vinegar sauce/dressing which was awful. The dish was stone cold too.
    3. This time ordered Tuna and cheese sandwich. The cheese was there with lettuce and only a microscopic portion of Tuna. I sent it back to the stingy chef. It returned with barely enough Tuna. A western restaurant would probably at least triple the Tuna portion. It doesn't cost them anything to do that surely.

I don't like to be nasty but 3 strikes strikes and you are OUT! I haven't had one good meal here this stay. I haven't eaten here at night though.

So great Hotel except for the daytime chef needs firing.

    Ever Rich Inn

    Inch 15:

The Ever Rich Inn is small, clean, cheap, GF, and exactly 94 steps to BG7. Yes, they have an elevator and a doorman but no bellboy. Good value, great location.
