If the cost of a massage is quoted at say 1600thb, does this include all sevices and extras, or just the massage?

What is an appropriate tip after a massage?

Visited Eden Club today. Found it very easily. Located on Soi 7/1 (for newbies this is the small street next to Soi 7 off Sukhumvit. OTH. Sorry for the long wide-eyed newbie post but comparing to experiences all over Asia this was appropriate to make me wide-eyed newbie or not.

The place itself is smaller than I imagined really no more than a dark shop front with a black door. Entered to find a small bar to my left and a number of girls sitting around. I don't like to give advice on the tipping, its people's freedom, but again I will confirm that 1000 bahts tip is way too out of line in Thai Standards to almost rediculous extent.

An office lady in BKK makes 6000-8000 a month. Upcountry about 3000-5000 a month. Daily wage in BKK about 200-300 bahts. Upcountry 150-200 a day.
1000 bahts is 5 day of 8 to 6 work wages in Thailand. So these soapie girls are making at least 10 to 20 times more money than the normal working ladies.

At most 100-200 tip for a good provider is way enough to encourage the good service in Thailand. Almost all Thai clients do not give a baht of tip, so girls do not expect any tip from local clients. Because so many foreigners give tip in rediculous extent, a pattern that has happened now in so many shops that girls now wants and expect big tips from all foreigners regardless their service. I think its good for the market to tip accordingly, or adopt no tip custom like at saunas in China that make things easy, because we have to remember that these girls are making much more money than the most company executives already.
