There is actually several MP's and Karaoke places very close to Silom. If you go to the Plaza Hotel on Surawong street (parallel to silom, opposite side of Patpong) you will have several choices. Walking out of the hotel turn left towards Patpong. If you continue in this direction you will see a variety of small places offering various servious, some non-sexual. However, I recommend that you turn left from the hotel, walk about 10 meters, then cross the street towards a seafood restauarnt on the corner. This corner block has several places, mostly in the side streets behind, but a few on the mainstreet. I suggest walking towards the 7-11 (about 100 meters) and turning left on one of the side streets. You will see several places. I like this area because it is a very different feel from many MPs. Some of these places are for Thais, others cater to Asians, but us white guys are more than welcome and I've never been charged extra (I can speak Thai) Variety of women vary enormously from place to place and night to night. But, it's the experience of it all, and it's not that far from Patpong if you don't find what you're looking for.

just behind the indiira regent hotel are the two massage parlors called chaphaya 2 ( J2) and cp1 ( J1), you may be able to overlook them from a high rise point in the hotel, i stayed at the baiyoke sky adjacent to the indira regent on the 40th floor , clould get a clear view of the same, however the locality pratunam is not one of the best places to live, if you are looking for a good mongering scene , stay in sukumvit.

There are quite a few massage joints around Tower Inn on Silom Road, If you exit the hotel and walk in either direction on you can see them (most are on the opposite side of the street from the hotel). Nimboo, my Getting laid on a layover report may be of interest to you. You should have enough time for a quickie at Nataree; I think they open around 1:30pm so by the time you clear immigration and customs, you'll be there just on opening time. Another tip is to check your bags right through to your desitnation if you can, but you still may need to check-in again (without baggage) at BKK. Refer to my report for details.

I have stayed in the Silom Road area a couple of times and never ran across an MP. What you will find though is plenty of street hustlers trying to direct you to MPs they make a commission from. Stay away from them. My advice is to head towards the nearest Sky Train or MRT station and proceed to the MP of your choice. Search the forum or Google for Bangkok tonight. NO NO NO, do NOT stay at the airport my friend. The parlor at the airport is awfull. Hair salon style SITTING chair and price gouging. I doubt you get more than a HJ. GET a cab and have him take you to Sukhumvit and WALK all over the place to have all the fun you want.

Plan on being back at the airport with 90 minutes to spare and save Baht500 for the departure tax.

Google the city nightlife stuff and you can find TONS of maps with all the parlors, etc on them
