Kudos to you being able to date beautiful non-bar types since you are settled (?) there or are on a long term basis. However, we poor day trippers have no other recourse. So appreciate it if you don't stick that thorn in our side.

BTW, we can only imagine what a beautiful Thai girls available for a date looks like as we have none to compare with.

I wasn't sticking a thorn in anyone's side. I was challenging Capt. JBs declarative statement that his Beer Garden pickup somehow refuted the hypothesis that Beer Garden girls are all unattractive. I wouldn't normally have commented, especially negatively on a pic posted here because I do believe, "to each his own". But, I did comment because the pic was posted in an attempt to counter remarks made by myself and others that there are no beauties at the Beer Garden. I don't think the pic posted by Capt JB proved anything other than what I and others have said. But, if he liked her and she was a GFE or whatever, then he got what he was after and more power to him.
Also, you don't have to imagine what a beautiful Thai girl looks like. Just ride the Skytrain, or go to Siam Square, MBK or dozens of other places and look around. There are plenty of true Thai beauties to show you that Isaan BGs are at the bottom of the barrel as far as looks go.

Arguments about what constitutes beauty are always a bit of a mine-field because it's obviously very subjective. But, I think that most guys that come to Asian and especially Thailand are already sympathetic to the Asian look and have an idea of what they think is beautiful in this region. But, when you first get here, you're faced with a sea of women all of whom are different from what you are generally used to. So, at first, your tastes are not that sophisticated and you view a much larger segment of the female population as being more beautiful than they actually are. The longer you stay here, and the greater your access to all kinds of women, the better your ability to start to distinguish what is truly beautiful from what is merely ok. Also, you become somewhat co-opted by local standards of beauty. However, I honestly think that given a choice between Isaan bargirls and say, the university or young office girls one sees every day, most guys here would opt for the latter. But, it's understandable that most guys do not have that kind of opportunity and therefore see beauty in what is available to them.

I've decided to post one pic (clothed) as an example of what I think is a beautiful Thai girl. Others might disagree with me. In the end, that's what makes this topic so fascinating; that we all have our own specifications and can compare and contrast.

I also agree with your assessment about meeting and dating non-bar type girls. I have been saying the same as you: you aren't going to find a quality girl on a two week vacation hanging around Sukhumvit.

I read your reports and must say that your observations are usually "right on target." Especially about "tourists" who think that a "long-in-the-tooth" girl from the Soi 7 Beer Garden is the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. I also agree with your assessment about meeting and dating non-bar type girls. I'm well aware of the Gik phenomenon. I have had them and currently I am one, for a university girl from Nakhon Pathom.
But, I disagree with you. I do not think it's overwhelmingly pervasive. Sure, Thai girls are more sexually active than they were even a few years ago. I am around young Thai girls on a daily basis and think I am pretty savvy to which are genuinely not fucking around and which are putting on an act. I still think the "good Thai girl" and whatever that means is still dominant in that most, if fucking at all are only fucking one guy not multiple partners. I think you're living in a wannabe fantasy. Thai girls are not that different from Western girls and most Western girls don't have simultaneous sex partners, not in the age of Aids.
