i guess there isn't a no future for patts. just look at the russian tourists. all carry mike shopping mall bags full of overpiced goodies. they rarely are seen on beach road, other then to walk their shopping home. or to go shopping.

familiar faces: since may, just two or three familiar faces were missing on br, but one returned. squirting three holer is now a new familiar face. to me this equates down to same-same before.

military presence: moto cop duos are now often one regular police and one mp. it must be the military teaching the boys in brown how to run a show their way.

your favorite "forces of control" are going to get even more controlling. apparently, the thai army is going to join the pattaya police and volunteers in the overall crackdown on crime, which one assumes will mean freelancer activities as well. expect it to get even worse than it already is.

the big story on thai tv last night was about some sleeze-ball german running an internet webcam sex business in pattaya. there were lots of lurid, vaselined shots of girls doing various deeds in front of the cams and then the orchestrated, media-covered police raid, with girls scurrying and covering their heads with towels, computers being seized and the sleeze-ball being led away in cuffs. this was followed by local officials and police announcing increases in crackdowns on local crime and prostitution...seems pretty hypocritical to me, given pattaya's obvious "raison d'etre". but, hey, tit.

but surely this is old news, oth. this german guy and his family were busted ages ago.

ok, the pathetic indies on the beach are being bullied. but are the bars being 'cleaned'? does the full-on lesbo show in club boesche get 'cleaned up' daily? why did las vegas bar in jomtien (the one that offers naked, groping pool) re-open after it had been raided and closed down on morality issues?

You and I, Freeler, are almost mongering mirror images - I rarely take a girl before 8:00 or 10:00 PM, and prefer to hunt all night. Night was invariably when I would discover those gems which made the Beach so worthwhile.

But as for everything being 'as it should be' on the Beach, alas, it is not. Of course I'm a terrible pessimist, but I would estimate the total number of girls at no more than 10% of what it once was. The numbers during the day were never very large, so perhaps you don't remember the enormous throngs one used to see at about 9:00-11:00PM. I did take the trouble to have a look during the day recently by dint of staying up all night. The police patrols last from 8:00 pm until dawn, with just a few girls to be found after that. Sometimes one can see perhaps half a dozen girls along Second Road hiding in the shadows. The night I stayed up I was rewarded with a couple of three-holers at around 9:00 AM - both hardcore third rate familiar faces.

But as for new information: many of the diehards now live on Soi Chiaphum, some at Ja House and a lot at the other (apparently) no-name rooming house just a few doors further down. So it is possible to find girls there, or sometimes walking in the area. Be warned however those houses are very creepy and do contain many pimp-like characters. Chiaphum is an interesting soi - very downmarket. It reminds me of the Old Pattaya, or even Soi Zero, if anyone remembers that. No doubt it too will soon be for the wrecking ball.

Comments on the decline of Pattaya in general: even though it is New Years, and therefore absolutely the worst time to visit other than Songkran, and even though its best aspect (the Beach Road scene) is gone, Pattaya is still better than any other place on the planet. Sad planet eh?

Hi,

Police check Beach Road almost every day between 8-10PM and round up the ladies. They ask for ID cards and collect B100 in fines per lady. Before 8PM everything is how it was and should be. Many familiar faces, many new ones too. After 10PM? I wouldn't know and won't bother to find out either.
Beach Road for me was very productive this past week with a 29yo squirting three holer topping the chart. Haven't captured the ' magic' moment in my camera though... Will try again later!

New Eden club in Patts is similar to the famous one in Bkk. Same policy of choosing 2 gals with unlimited sex. Price is also the same as Bkk --which bothered me a bit as I expected prices to be cheaper as this is Pattaya and not Bkk. Its FS--same as Bkk.

BTW: dont be surprised to see some familiar faces here in Patts Eden as the gals are doing a rotatation between the 2.

There are many russian tourists, particularly female tourists, in Pattaya now. You can find russian girls in discos along Walking Street. Many are from provincial Russia. There are many russians in the malls, also. As it was mentioned in the forum, it is relatively easy to have a date with a russian girl, though the dates can have generally unpredictable ends and in some cases may not worth an investment of time and money.

You would be better off walking down beach road, sprinkling a basket full of cash like a three year with a basket of rose petals at a wedding.

I'm not calling you a three year old, BUT it is a good description of the futility a single falang investor has over his own investment. I'm not saying it can't be done. But there are steps you must take and time you must spend before undertaking such an important move.

To me you sound like you have only been vacationing there? It is a big difference between living there and going there every couple months. The euphoria must fade from your eyes before investing.You should live in the community that you plan to invest in to for several years (3+) years before doing anything. KNOW YOUR MARKET.

3rd world, I stress this point because just last year i was sitting in the shop of a friend of mine (thai-friend) in Jomteane beach. A young lady friend of hers came strolling in crying. They had found her Auzi boyfriend shot in the back of the head execution style that morning on beach road. From what I understand it was over a land deal.

I tell ya, I was right in the middle of the whole event and may note speak great Thai, but 90% of what you say comes through body language. The observations I made and conversations I was privy to made my skin crawl.

At that very same time, I too was looking at investing in to Pattaya (the surrounding area brick and mortar locations). I have been going to LOS for several years and doing business with Thai's every year (import/export).

BUT, after observing this carnival and then later speaking with my friend and getting the inside scoop. NOW wait, even at that point i was still looking at investing. The event made me very curious so i looked in to falang investors and the obstacles we have. Let me ask you this, do you know who "Jim Thomson" is? if you can answer that and tell me that little bit of history, I'll continue this rant, but for time reasons:

To cut this story short because I could go on all day:

ONE: your behind the eight ball, your looking at investing in to a bar

TWO: if you have to come here and ask advise, your a novice.

Point ONE: Bars are extremely dangerous to run even in a first world environment
Point TWO: when doing Biz outside of the first world the only thing that keeps you alive is leverage and you have to have a lot, just to stay alive. This is where the SHARKs swim, and don't think for once second Thai's are a peaceful people. They will turn on you like a rabid dog.

That being said, I still love the Thai's and LOS. BUT will only make an investment move there with cash that I can just as easily burn in my fireplace. Don't get me wrong I will retire there or have a little place to sleep and play. That is completely different then owning and operating a business. On top of that, if it were ever to take place, leverage I spoke about it before, you MUST have it and have it in spades on several levels. The third and last element that 99% of the people over look, stealth no one should know you are the owner or partner of anything, this will keep you alive. Sorry to be such a downer.
