Actually I have gone out to the bars with guys who believed this - basically the 'real' price is so high now that some people have a hard time believing it.

In one particular encounter in Udon, I was out with a young, good looking African dude, and he wanted to go to the 'regular' nightclubs. Of course I refused, and we ended up taking one girl each from Soi Farang. He very reluctantly paid the 300 baht, but apparently assumed it was the whole fee, as afterwards he had a big fight with his girl about the additional. I felt a bit bad as I had diverted the lad from his 'free' venues, so I slipped her 500 when he wasn't looking.

There's also another smaller, but potentially more serious problem, of first-time and inexperienced Christmas visitors to Pattya not understanding the BF system. Some believe that the 600 baht paid to the bar is "all-inclusive" and covers the fee for the girl's sexual services. A few who know that the girls also get paid for sex will BF them in the hopes of charming their way to a "freebie" - that's a big thing among younger guys who consider themselves good-looking. A much higher fee tends to make these guys think a bit more about whether they want to "pay bar" and exactly what it means.

The girl in Skeeter Pratt's final picture is Wan, who's a real sweetie and not at all stuck up. She even has a thing for overweight guys!

The amount of info on the net is unreal and and to be honest will be the undoing of the bar scene when more and more young morans make the place a thoroughly horrible place to be, I have known a very goodlooking lad get a freebie in hua hin but that place is like no other and has rules of its own how those girls make a living is beyond me because they'll do anything to get to the hilton and away from the bars customers, but she was probably playing the long game anyway, a spratt to catch a mackeral as my gran says.

Hey thanks for you reply. How much was the BF before midnight? after? If you barfine them at midnight/1am for LT how long do they stay? I took only a couple of girls during this holiday and some girls left after 20 mins of sex and longest ST I had was about 1 hour and 15 mins.
Did you by chance also stayed at the Hotel part of Secrets? Any intel on the girls that were great in bed would be greatly appreciated. I accept PMs. I like the girl with the crimped hair in your photos as well (249.jpg) I believe.

The Tropical Entertainment at Soi 2 made a costume competition for the staff at Loy Krathong – November 24th this year.
Farangs were welcome, but the middle points of this competition were the boys and the ladies and the ladieboys who worked there every day. Even the children of the staff were allowed to take part of this competition. Very serious nice party.
Normally this bar is a pure music bar with extremely loud music. In the front area of the bar they placed some very comfortable couches, where you can sit down and smoke an excellent water pipe.
That is a real good thing for me, because the Arabs and the Arabic quarter in Pattaya don’t belong to my –hotly favoured – persons and places.
Anyway, this competition took about 6 hours and the staff had to present themselves on the cat-walk and showed their costumes to a jury. Then they made a first selection and finally the competitors had to answer quiz questions.
All at all a very nice competition. The farangs had their ball too. It is a very rare situation, that this business allows the staff to make them out to be something special.

Great job evil, I really liked the format of your report. I hope you will someday share the name of the condo with us. I usually travel to Pattaya with a friend. We've been looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment to rent for a week or so during our Pattaya visits. It has to be near Beach or 2nd Road and your place seems perfect.

You know it's the high point of the high season when you visit your favorite go-go bars only to discover that the bar fines have doubled between Christmas and New Years -- some even until January 10, 2008.
... I talked to several of the girls who admitted that few punters are paying the 1000-1200b tolls.

If punters aren't paying the high barfines, the barowner's policy is working. The goal of doubling, tripling, even quadrupling BFs is to discourage customers from taking the girls out of the bar.
One barowner explained it like this: Last year he kept BFs at their normal 600 baht, which resulted in 30 of his 35 girls getting barfined by 11.00 p.m. Normally during high season he counts on selling 300 drinks between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. About 100 lady drinks and 200 customer-consumed drinks. That night, he sold also no drinks during the final three hours, a big loss for the bar. As soon as potential customers saw no ladies on site, they turned on their heels and left. And even if some had stayed, there would have been no ladies for which to buy drinks. So the next night he doubled the barfines and less ladies were taken.
That's what the barowner wanted. He survives on selling booze. Barfines are only a minor part of the bar's overall revenue. A bar could survive without the revenue from barfines, but it can't survive without substantial revenues from drinks.
A few bars try to deal with the problem by not allowing BFs before midnight or 1.00 a.m., but that tends to [CodeWord140] off customers as well. They don't like to sit all night in hopes of barfining the girl of their choice later on.

I usually avoid paying bar fines anyway, preferring daytime visits from girls who have given me their phone numbers, but this is ridiculous. I talked to several of the girls who admitted that few punters are paying the 1000-1200b tolls.

I've not checked any of the beer bars, but if they've doubled their prices too, a lot of girls will be going home at night alone. This is just one more reason to take a stroll down Beach Road where bar fines are nonexistent.
