Now we finally have a decent taqueria, and it's located in the back block of OT, on the ground floor across from Harry's. The tacos al pastor (pork) are very good ($2. 50 each) , and the tortillas are a lot better than the ones from Belmonte (and they're supposed to be for sale shortly). The owner is from Monterrey, and apparently they also have a regular restaurant in CHIJMES. I don't normally pimp businesses, but I really hope these guys do well and stay in business.

Yep, but the Senor Taco at the rear block, the guys stop serving after 12 or 1 AM, and then close by 2 ! Even though the boss said the license is till 3 AM.

Not really a restaurant per se. However, if you go orchard towers and up the escalator to Ipanema. Pass it on the right keep walking down and there's a Thai place there. I didn't pick up anyone that night in Ipanema and called it an early night (around 2 am) so thought I would check this place out before I went back to my hotel. I ordered the green curry which came out really watery. But when I tasted it oh my god it was amazing! Definitely worth checking out guys. I also tried a spicy pork dish and that too was amazing.

And a good place to sober up, if you are having company!

And it was really cheap so that always helps as well.

I've pulled Thai girls from Ipanema who were thrilled to stop there and eat or get takeaway before going to my place.

While Singapore is a foodies paradise, one thing it's missing is halfway decent Mexican food. The opening of the Belmonte kiosk in Leisure Park Kallang finally gave us a source for corn tortillas (not the greatest, and expensive) , but most of the restaurants in Holland V or Dempsy still leave a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the helps from everyone. The foods in Singaport are great Freash seafood, Chinese food and indian food are what we ate.

Very much so. Spent many an evening with the work crowd there who are unaware about one of my "hobbies". It's great for work / social eating because the "goings on" open up lots of opportunities for a laugh. I've had many good evenings in Geylang that comprised of nothing but food and drink, you see plenty of families and groups doing the same. Also the SW were mainly cleared off the main thoroughfares when the Youth Olympics came a couple of years back, so action is mostly on the Lorongs (side streets) now.

This place is recommended.

Other places: if you want something different try the Arab Quarter around Bussorah Street and surrounds, lots of Middle Eastern & Malay food. Bring a knife to cut through the smog from all the shisha pipes. Most of the Indian Food around Serangoon and Little India is excellent so long as you like Indian food. This being a particular recommendation (but it closes quite early you need to be there by 9pm).

There's also an Indian tranny / he-she scene in Desker Road. Pretty desperate, plus $40 hookers in Rowell Road and Petain Road. Even more desperate. And a string of MP's on Kitchener Road, I'm pretty sure they all offer "specials".

The latter is remarkable: outstanding food, but it is impossible you choose to sit in that place if you don't know it. The menu written only in Chinese, but *one* waitress knows English, so you can ask help.

Not to rub it in, while Komalas tastes nice, I think they load it with MSG and a repeat customer ends up with a lot of stomach ailments

Ate at Komalas 4 days in FEB. Food is good but the one off serangoon road towards MRT is NonAC. Anand bhavan has great APPAM and Putti. Stayedat Alberts court village and ate to my hearts content for 4 days. 2days on the way to india and 2 days on the way back to US. Empty your gonads with good Thai girls from Laksa boy forum.

The Indian food SG has to offer in general is South-Indian.

If you want good North-Indian then head to Upper Dickson Rd in Little India.

There is a restaurant by the name of "Gokul".
