I never made it to Mayorista in past visits to MDE, but that will change when i return this fall.

I've received mixed reports on the safety there. 2 taxistas warned me to never go there alone. On the other hand, 2 chicas who used to work there told me it was totally secure. Have any of you guys gone there alone?

Past reports on this site said that chicas begin to arrive around 11 pm or even later. However, some guys and girls in MDE told me that chicas arrive as early as 5 or 6 pm.

Any input would be appreciated.

Its a must. We were there 6 nights and pulled 5 chicas.

It starts around 7. I have gone alone and never any problems. there are police walking around there too. I felt safe.

I have been there about 8 times since 2002, always on my own, occasionaly a person tells me it a dangrouse area, but as anywhere in life there are negative and positive people, my local Colombian friends tell me what I am recomeding below:

Stay on the main street and don't wander off to the side streets and you should be fine.

I'm a fan on Entourage, and didn't expect much of a change. Besides, the good looking star of Entourage bangs good looking women everywhere he goes, so Medellin would not be a big exception.

The bottom line, IMO, is that there has to be a lot of big news about the joys of Colombia to counteract the deeply held engram in American consciousness that it's a dangerous place.

You have nothing to worry about. I watched that episode tonight and all it was about was the (fictional) filming of the Pablo Escobar story. It wasn't even filmed in Medellin, and there were donkeys and explosions than anything else.

I'm guessing, or I've read that you are a BA Argentina guy.

I work with many guys from Argentina and they continually rave to me as to how much more friendly and open the Colombians are than people in their native land, especially the women.

I'm told by them that the Colombian women, in general, are much more approachable and less snooty.

I respect your opinion of the Colombian people, to each their own as they say, but I trully enjoy their loving culture and the people in general ... and I hope you're not forming your opinion from the attitude of the Colombianas that you find at the Mansion in Medellin. You seem much too wise for that.

Winner and El Austriatico both make a lot of good points. As we know from my handle I am a Dickhead. As we know from my previous posts, I did not have a good experience in MDE, but other factors were at work as well. I don't present myself as an expert on Colombia, but I am an expert monger with a lot of experience in Latin America. So I will give my opinion, which is worth what it will cost you to read it.

Never discuss price? Risky in my opinion and I want a rough idea. I prefer to have a rough idea in advance of what chicas want in a given place, and to shoot for the low end. That was an issue for me in my brief stay at the Mansion, where Greg did not want to even give me a rough idea of a starting point. You certainly can't take it to the point of haggling without Latina pride kicking in but if after some rapport is built, I think it is better, especially the first time in a place or the first time with a given chica, to have some kind of agreed upon number. She could say "well, I want X" and you could say "mi amor para mi en este momento es medio caro y estaba pensando más como Y." And, Y can't be 15-20% of X without being an insult.

Never discuss services? Agree completely. Well, almost completely. If you MUST have service Z, then maybe you need to make sure of that. I am more flexible. BBBJ is more of a risk for her than me, and it is her body. A good CBJ can be better than a bad BBBJ, although certainly a bad CBJ is worse than a bad BBBJ. I don't like the pout and take the condom off stuff. Where you are going to get BBBJ is when you repeat, but then again living where I live, if I don't get BBBJ, I probably am not going to repeat. Give her your phone number? Personally I disagree. Bad idea. But then I don't like getting a lot of phone calls. My phone number is for my friends and certainly hookers can become friends but it is not automatic. If you give out a land line, you have security issues. If you give out a cell phone number, it will buzz or ring at the exact wrong time when you are with someone else, and whether you answer it or ignore it, you have a problem. If you turn it off and have a password and all that shit, I don't see it being superior to e-mail.

Hookers have issues about who they are and what they do, and why they are doing it. Most would rather be doing something else if the money were equal, but of course it never is. Most have been abused and taken advantage of somehow somewhere sometime, and often when they were very young. Latin America is full of issues surrounding male dominance, machismo, vestiges of colonialism, and all of that shit. If you understand that, and speak decent Spanish, you will be ahead of the game. Most Latina females go directly from taking orders from/being dominated by their fathers or other dominant males in the household throughout their youth, to taking orders/being dominated by whoever is fucking them. This is both reflective of a lack of economic opportunity AND a visible vestige of colonialism. If you are a gringo monger, your job is to remain dominant while being nicer, less macho, and just different and interesting in the relatively short time you are having this intimate interaction with the gal you are fucking.

Putting X amount of money in her purse? Agree if there is a rough idea of X. If X is known, definitely do not count out the money. Have X in pocket Y and hand it over at the end of the session, with a light-hearted comment that does not refer to it as payment for services rendered, even though that is very obviously what it is. In general, the less obvious something is, the less is gained by stating it directly.

And if you repeat, be sure to mention how much you like what she did to her hair. Of course you don't remember what the fuck is different about it, but something will be, unless you just fucked her an hour ago. "Tu hueles riquísima; ¿es tu shampú?" has a very high rate of return as well.
