BTW- About the pool, You say it is open every day from 8:00am to 11:00pm. However does this mean it is heated during these hors as well?

Finally you told Col Blog "Thanks. Come by any time. The coffee is always hot." Does that only apply to Col Blog or can other prospective guests stop by as well? If so then who does one even ask for or say did the invite? Can we have a name?

Also to Col Bog- There are only two rooms at $80 so would you still stay there if say those two were occupied and you had to pay $100, $105, $115, $120 or $145 depending on availability?

I stayed at the mansion twice in room #7, which faces Poblado st (calle 43?) and last June, faced the construction site in-between the mansion and the street. I slept fine, the new windows that were installed were excellent. The construction in the morning wasn't that bad (though that may have changed, don't know); I didn't have to use the earplugs that I brought. But that may have been a factor of being worn out from all the chicas! The noise from the street is of no consequence, IMO.

Anyway, about noise, after 4:00pm there is absolutely no (zero) traffic on the street. At night time the only thing you can hear are the frogs in the waterfalls chirping. I have actually had people complain that it is too quiet.

1. The site mentions a "Weber BBQ for those Afternoon Parties". What parties are you speaking of? Are they a regular affair at Casa Medellin?

The guests in the hotel often have parties with their girls. I am thinking of organizing some parties open to the public but just not sure how many people are out there.

2. Is the heated pool always heated or only on certain days or hours? And what are the hours of use?

It is open every day from 8:00am to 11:00pm. Obviously we cannot have it open all night long as that would disturb the guests who want to sleep. It is always hot except when weather will not permit it such as when it rains for 2-3 days.

3. You don't have any information about your staff. Who is the staff? Do they speak English? You only mention translators will be available in the future at a fee.

We have English speaking staff on duty and English speaking taxis on call.

4. I understand that the property next to you is being completely renovated, does this cause any construction noise to carry over to your property (especially in the morning hours).

This is not a big deal. There are large walls around the property.

5. I originally remember reading somewhere that photography is not permitted on the hotel premises. Where does that rule apply to, certainly not within the rooms I hope. I'd hate to not be able to do shoots like the one below.

You cannot take photos in any of the public areas without permission of the management. This rule is to protect the clients and staff from getting photographed. My house is much more private than any of the other houses as there are no buildings looking down on it. Many of the clients who book here are doing so for privacy reasons and allowing cameraguys to document every second on the Internet is not something anyone wants.

BTW- I do think the room rate pricing is a bit pricey compared to your competition. But If your occupancy level does well then that is not an issue for you, if not, I'm sure you will adjust them to compete.

To what competition? My prices are cheaper when you compare value for value. I am bringing a whole new level of quality to Medellin just like I did in Cartagena.

And it really does not matter to me how busy the place is so occupancy level is completely irrelevant. It is not about having lots of people, it is more important to have the right kind of people. I am retired here and doing this more for fun than money.

If people want cheap rentals in Medellin I am more than happy to show them where they are. Casa Kiwi and BlackSheep both have beds starting at $8.00 a night and there are plenty of hotels in central that are extremely affordable.

No one who has actually stayed at my place thinks it is too expensive. In fact several people have said I should charge more. $80 is still a bargain to anyone who has even some money.
