Once I asked for a second ice cream, the waitress went into the kitchen to ask, came back in one minute to say the request had been accepted and recame back seconds later with my ice cream: couldn't she spare one journey?

Ok, now I'll come to what actually "annoyed" me a little: I was a lonely young (youngest after me wasn't less than 60 years old, could pratically be my father) looking westerner, therefore implicitly rich, also passenger of a river cruise, so even richer (actually I'm on the poor side, but they couldn't know, LOL!). It depends. For example, if the money is to pay for rent, then the sponsoring dude might just pay the girl's landlord directly. There is no set protocol.
