Posts: 32Cuba. First visit planned this September
Hey folks,
I am thinking about visiting Cuba for the first time later this year (app. 18 Sept. 02 Oct.)
I have spent the past two days reading up in this forum and enjoying the posted pics. Thanks to all contributors!
Of course I will be the typical tourist: light skin, blue eyes and my spanish is limited to una mas, por favor!
I am desperately in need of advice where I can find a chica friendly place to stay.
Should I plan all accomodations from home or will it suffice to get a place to crash for the first night and go along from there, finding places to stay when I get there?
I will be flying Frankfurt to Havanna and back the same way. I want to start by taking in the flair of Havanna for a few days, before moving on to one or two other cities during my stay.
But where to go? I was thinking Hologuin, Camaguey or Santa Clara? Any Ideas?
Is anyone else planning to be in Cuba at the same time?
I am hoping for some good tips!
In return, if anybody is planning a stay in Frankfurt, Germany. Send me a PM.
Thanks,
Robert

If you fly into Jose Marti airport in Havana take a cab ride to the Hemingway Marina in Miramar. There are serious fisherman from all over the world from whom I'm sure youll obtain much information.
Spanish is a big plus but money is the key.
Figure $200 a day budget which includes casa, girl, food, drink, taxis (No rent a car)

I am considering a solo self-guided saltwater fly fishing trip to Cuba. Areas with mangroves and shallow water are ideal for wading for bonefish, tarpon etc. And Cuba's flatwater wees very little fishing pressure.
Two areas that I have identified are Bahia de los Cochinos and Cayo Romano. Have any readers had any experience in these areas, or with fly fishing Cuba in general?
Does anyone know if hiring a small boat by the day is feasible?
A third possible fishing area, near Holguin, is called Bahia de Malagueta.
I would like to do more than just fish. Any thoughts on how a gringo with fluent spanish would make out in rural Cuba?

I suggest you visit Nash Travel website for price information. They also provide a listing of all gateway countries and airlines which travel to Cuba.
Cancun is a good gateway because there are 2 or 3 daily flights to Havana except on Sundays. The airlines carriers which provide service were Cubana and Mexicana. This was as of 2009 so things probably have changed.
Two months in Cuba wow! Enjoy

I am looking for a cheap airfare from Los Angeles area to Cancun, which is from where I like to fly to Havana.
I found a RT ticket earlier, fly out mid May and fly back mid July (intend to stay in Cuba only 2 months) , for $600. 00.
If anyone has seen any cheaper fares lately, please let me know.
From my prior trips, and have not been back in about four years, the airfare to the third country is the only thing I can control, somewhat.
The rest, I know what to expect to pay. Casa, food, booze, girls, etc.
Helps a lot that I am a brown skinned latino. Speak fluent spanish.
Last time stayed put in one place in havana. This time going from place to place.
Thanks for any help. Please pm me.

You want to be in a private house where the owner is not anal about you bringing in girls (probably the majority of houses).

Posts: 130Thanks Adinga, that's useful info! I'm exchanging emails now with the rental agent to clarify the situation, but might end up in a hotel suite if the owner stays in the same house.
Is there any 5stars hotel where I'm less at risk to be hassled by the security when bringing in girls? Cuba for sure doesn't look as much fun a dictature as Burma to monger and party.

Posts: 271La Maison is very close to the tunnel which connects Havana with Miramar. Theres not much happening up that way except for some of the Clubs like Johnnys. 1830s but its all hard core girls. There are alot of police who pullover tourists with rental plates on the Havana side of the tunnel so be careful if you have girls in your car.
The location is about 1 1/2 miles west of Cohiba hotel along the Malecon-Miramar is a beautiful place.
Hope this helps

As of the villa, I noticed they rent it out with 4 to 6 BRs at different prices. Does it mean if I rent 4 BRs that I might end up sharing the villa with someone else using the extra bedrooms ? I did ask to the website today when inquiring / booking it but some of you might know how it works in such a case.
Sabalo, I should be in havana May 5th in the evening as well, if you are still there we can hook up.
Besides will my mobile phone be working in Cuba?

I'm thinking of going to Guardalavaca, Cuba. Any of you guys been here? If so, can you share all the info you have.
What's it like?
Where to stay?
Clubs to go to?
How's the chica action?
Chica friendly Casa particulars?
Going rate for chicas?
Where's the best place to pick up?
What are the chicas like, attitudes, etc?
Thanks in advance.

I've finally booked a trip for beginning of May and am about to book a villa 1min walk from La Maison (Bar, Restaurant, Nightclub and fashion Shows) in Playita de 16.
Do you know if this a good area for girls, and within walking distance from the old town?
Thanks
