I find that the rate changes drastically. If you to the Turquino Disco, you can find some real hotties, but they want $80 - $100 CUC. The semi regular jinetera will try to get all that she can. My experience has been, the less the woman does it, the less she expects from you.

Can I see some pic of the woman you have pay less than 50 CUC? Can they match Dianelys or the Blond chic?

I am the first to agree with you. 75 CUC is a very steep price to pay for a girl in CUba or any part of the world. But, I was very horny that night I had just gotten alot infusion of cash in Cuba and I felt like spending a little. Now, the question is was that a bright thing to do? No!!!! But, on the other side of the coin, I did hook up with blond a 3 times later when I did not pay her money. I did actually pay. I pay for dinners and food for her home. So there was some type of payment there. But I did not mind.

I only let then stay overnight if I really like them and I feel I can trust them. You have to be very careful with these girls. They may steal some of your belongings. I always keep all my valuables looked up and hidden. If I have a girl overnight I take her carnet (ID Card) and hide it away until she's ready to leave in the morning.

Good advice. Even if she doesn't stay overnite, I always ask to look at her Carnet and I write her ID number down, in case she robs me.

I'm not looking for a girlfriend so I see no point in romancing a girl and spending extra money on drinks, cigarettes etc. I did a little of that when I was new to Havana and inexperienced. If I really like the girls I will give her some gifts like underwear, deodorant, costume jewellery,chocolate etc. I always bring lots of small treats and cheap gifts. The girls always like this. If the girls are nice they get gifts. If they aren't so nice they get their money and that's all. I never treat any girls badly but if they treat me badly I will certainly never see them again.

Don't go spending crazy amounts of money on the girls. If they ask for lots of money just say no and move on. It's sometimes necessary to have a Cuban guy help you find chicas. If you do this it's best to choose some guy who lives in the same building where you are staying or very near. It should be someone who you can easily find later if you have problems. Don't let these guys take adavantage of you either. If they find a girl for you they are going to collect 5 CUC or so from the girls so it's really not necessary to pay them. Cubans are professionals at separating foreigners from there money. Don't let them take advantage of you.

Good advice. I call these guys "finders". QUESTION: How do you ensure that the "finder" doesn't jack the price way up in order to get more? How do you control your costs?

Always be on your guard. Always count your change. Don't let them talk you into buying them beer or rum or whatever. They really only laugh at you behind your back for doing this plus they will ask you for more again and again.

I think they laugh behind our backs for many reasons. Especially when tourists pay them 50 - 100 CUCs or more, PLUS expensive gifts. I got to know a jinitera real well and she told me this fact about other jiniteras: "many of them have boyfriends or chulos. the girl takes the money (50/100 CUC) from the tourist and then gives it to her boyfriend. He goes out and then gets drunk with his freinds, laughing at the stupid tourists."

About buying a guy a drink:

As well, I have had two similar experiences with finders. I asked a guy to find me girls. He found me a girl. The finder then said "this is how it is done: we need to go to a bar so you can talk business with the girl and get to know her." We go to the bar. The finder proceeds to drink and eat up a storm on my dime. To make matter worse, he talks non-stop, I can't hardly get to know the girl. At the end of the nite, she doesn't go home with me.

I will never, ever, ever again invite a finder to have a beer with me. The next time one asks me for a beer, I will say "sure, I'll buy you a beer, as long as you don't drink it at the same table as me."

I agree and by doing so, I have found you will get more no's then yesses.

I meet most of the girls on my own walking around Vedado. You really have to spend hours walking around hunting but it usually pays off.

You cannot walk side by side with a Cuban girl in Havana unless she is someone you know extremely well. If a girl agrees to go back to your casa she will have to follow you from a distance or be excorted there by a male Cuban.

Each time I go to Havana I've been finding that it's harder and harder to meet girls on my own. I'm lucky to meet a new one that I really like every couple of days.

This has also been my experience.

Havana isn't an easy place to meet girls like it used to be a few years ago but if you have lots of patience you can do ok.

Each wanted 75 CUC, the service was great and I do not have any complain in service, but 75 CUC I thought was kind of steep. But they both were great lookers and great in bed.

I agree with the others on this board. 75CUC is steep. Even for a looker. I would pay it only if the girl was drop dead gorgeous and I had to have her.

You also spent other money on the girls in form of cover charges and drinks. Let's assume you spent 10 cover and perhaps 15 drinks on each. So you have already invested appx 25 in money on each.

Cubanas are expert at getting the most money they can from you. Here is what happened. It the end of the nite, and the girls know the following:

1.) You have already invested a lot of money and time in them and you don't want that to go to waste.

2.) You are generous.

3.) It's the end of the nite, you want to get laid and you have no other options.

As the say in the negotiating world, "they have you by the balls."

To be fair to Cubanito, I am not sure if the girls would have budged on price.

Provider 1, Havana: On my survey of providers, I met a very attractive, early 20's, slender and well-dressed putica. She started at 90 and negotiated down to 70. She was a real hard-bargainer. The negotiations took 20-30 minutes. At the end of the negotiations, I was so annoyed that I no longer wanted sex. I settled on a BJ for 10CUC, as a consolation prize. She grudgingly gave me a BJ. I know, I know. I am a cheap bastard for not paying 70. Soy tacano.

Had I paid the 70 for sex she would have probably had done it with no enthusiasm.

I agree with the others policy of paying 20-30 CUC. This seems like the minimum going rate for an extranjero.

I've been to Havana more than a dozen times. I do not speak Spanish other than a few words.. I do not drink and I have never been inside a disco in Cuba. I have a friend who lived there for 6 years and he showed me around the first couple of times. I have paid as high as 50 CUC for a chica but nowadays I never pay more than 20 to 30 CUC. If they want more than that I pass. I have a couple of Cuban friends who know the kind of girls I'm looking for and they help me out now and then. I prefer young slender women between 18 and 25.

These two girls I met at the Casa de Musica in Havana Vieja. I met Dianelys first while Iw sa going in. She asked me if I wanted her to be my escort. I said yes and pay for her way in and brought her drinks. About an hour later she told me that she had two friends outside an dthey had no way in getting in. She asked me if I wanted to pay for them, I felt generous and I said "yes". Everybody wants something in Cuba. And because they are not exactly the buisiest people in the world, they have all the time in the world to screw you. They want to keep you around as long as possible, have you buy drinks for as many friends as possible, taxis for these friends to go home afterwards. As long as the yuma pays, they will keep coming up with new ideas for you to spend money.

I am not saying 'don't ever buy a Cuban girl drinks'. Have bought plenty of drinks for Cubanas. As long as I am in control of the flow of money and don't feel I'm being a sucker, I have no problem paying.

But if I see a girl that I am not interested in hanging out with, not interested in talking a lot to, not interesting in having hang around as a novia or semi-novia, but ONLY want to bang and get it over with - then I never spend money on her other than the 30, 40 ot 50 for the actual act.

I don't cruise disco-lines often, but the system doesn't change because the girl is in front of a disco. I have a few times had non-Spanish speaking friends in a car with me who had trouble finding girls, and I have taken them out to pick up chicas. Few weeks back I was crusing with a friend and he saw a beautiful mulatta in a long white dress outside Salon Rojo, so I called her over and invited her in. She was not looking like a hooker, but was in the backseat with my friend no longer than two minutes from when we first saw her.

I can only give advice that has always worked for me. It is the most simple in the word and comes in a small, easy-to-remember formula:

Girlfriend potential = Buy drinks, talk, charm her, be funny, smile, talk to her amigas.

Straight to bed potential = Go straight to bed with her

Thanks, TG. I appreciate the advice. The rules of the game are way different in Cuba. More than one cubanos has advised me: "find a girl who is a **** (loquita), buy her a few drinks, spend a little time and she's almost-guaranteed to be yours."

This HAS worked on occasion, however, the majority of the time I have been burnt - the loquita wasted my time and money and didn't come thru with the goods.

The rules of the game in Cuba are totally different. I will be sure to try this direct approach.

While in Habana I worked some of the low end discos in Habana Vieja / Centro Habana. There were some attractive younger white girls in these places. The more attractive ones were already taken - they seem occupied with Cuban boyfriends. The solo girls - the leftovers were old and/or overweight. Perhaps I am making excuses and I merely lacked the courage - due to the difficulties I encountered in conversing in the nite clubs - given my two handicaps of: my lack of fluent spanish + the high music/noise levels of the discos.

A better option was outside La Casa De La Musica Centro Habana on Av de Italia (Galiano). One weekend nite I cruised by there in a taxi, looking for pros, and there was a huge crowd outside with some good looking girls.

I have been to this spot countless of time when I do not find game on the beach or on the road way. This place is like shooting ducks on the pond. I ussually show up (with the car rental) and one of the parking attendants has a spot for my car rental right next to the entrance of the Club. On this one night I met Dianelys. SHe came up to me and ask me if I could escort her in and pay her way into the club. I said sure. She is not from Havana. She comes from the campos of Camaguey looking to make money in Havana. She was a little more expensive than the other I have had and pay for but the service was great. The cost paying the club fees, drinks, soemthing to eat later on that night. We went to Santa Maria at 6:00 AM to watch the sun rinse. She had a gorgeous blond friend who I also pay for her entrance later on when she told me. The blond friend wanted to do me that night with her boyfriend in tow. I do have some scrupples and I said no. I know, I know I should have fuck her on the beach. But I felt bad for the guy she was with. I mean he was hanging and drinking with me all night. I could not fuck his lady. you want wall to wall cubans......go to the beach in June / July / August. August is high season with little vacancy as alot of Cubans are off work and alot of Europeans are on vacation.
