    Hotel El Virrey

Suggest staying ar Hotel El Virrey, www.Hotelvirrey.com. Located in centro. Nice boutique hotel. Safe neighborhood during the day. Plenty of eating and shopping places. Convinent location. Walking distance to the Gold Musuem, La Candaleria and the National Musuem. Cost includes breakfast. No taxes are charged. Extermely secure. Rooms are large. Ask for a grande room (no extra cost) which includes a LCD TV with numerous English programming. 90210, Melrose Place, Married with Children, Seinfeld, E Channel, movie channels, etc. Left side of hotel is much quieter.

At night suggest not walking around. Extremely nice, professional and bilingual staff. Girl friendly. Close to Santa Fe.

Maybe a 12.000 cab ride to Chicas Milineo during the day. Higher during the evenings. Forget trying to get a cab to take you there during rush hours.

    Apartment in Bogota

Address: Carrera 7 No. 52-23, Chapinero

    Owner: Andres

    Telephone: 310-666-0669

    Email: andresgatboletinjudicial.com

    Price: $60, $70 in December

    My review:

Great Apartment. It's located right in between Centro and Zona Rosa/Parque 93. The two areas where I spent most of my time. The apartment is newly renovated. It is a studio but a big one, and for a solo traveler, it is everything you need.

Andres was great. Every detail was taken care of. I have asked for 8 towels, they were there. I have asked for one maid service, it was arranged at exactly the time I've asked for without me being there and just arriving to a clean apartment. Our conversions reminded me of Tarantino movies. Every word spoken had a meaning without any unnecessary words wasted. I would surely rent the place again.

I have a 12 hour layover in Bogota on my way to Ecuador what would be the best option to have a good time, while I am there.

    Well Chosen

Just make sure when you arrive, and the security guard take your travel suit to your room give him 10,000 Cop, and you will be set, you just have to ask the Guy what you need.

Remember to have at hand the address of the hotel, so when you go and ask for a taxi from the airport . should not cost you more than 20000 Cop.

Any other cuestions Jus ask me, you may not have any problem having one of the girls spend the night with you, thas why you are paying for doble ocupancy

Oh. And they had no chica fees. But I always confirm before with hotel to make sure they do not have a problem with my 'girlfriend' spending the night.

I stayed at Charlie's Place about a year ago.. rooms were large and about $70 per night. Free breakfast, mini-bar, and had a couple computers with internet in lobby. the rooms were not the nicest i have been in but they were large and staff very nice. http://www.hotelcharlies.com/ There is also a dating/marriage agency connected to the hotel on the other side of the building.

    5)Bogotacasa.com (for apt)
    6)Bogota Plaza

Could someone please tell me the best way to go here? I don't want to spend more than around $100-110 and of course it's gotta be hassle-free chica friendly!

    Please advise! Thanks in advance!

Please forgive the redundancy, guys - I just posted in the regular Bogota section.

Hotel St. Simon wants 194K for a regular room, plus 90K "guest fee." That's ridiculous. Embassy Suites sounds great but not near Zona Rosa or in a good neighborhood (true?). What about Suites 85 or 97?

    Thanks for any advice!

    Hello Guys

Thinking of giving Bogota a try, after 7 trips to Mde.

Is there anything like the Mansion in Bogota, where chicas show up daily?

I do not know if it is chica friendly, but their Rates start at US$150. It sounds like a nice hotel, but too expensive.

Try the Saint Simon. They charge around US$60-70. Right in the middle of Zona Rosa.

Suite 85 and 87 are higher priced.

    Bogotacasa.com

Some of you must have had bookings with bogotacasa.com and deal with the agent, TREVOR. I had a reservation with him for 1 week and had paid the down payment and security fee via paypal. Upon arrival, I was told by Trevor that the owner had renegade on the rental fee and wanted more money. Trevor said that he told the owner to go to hell. He then told me I had 2 options. He had a luxury apartment for 190 K a night or he could return my deposit & security fee. I was skeptical and ask for my money back. When I ask him if that's all he could do for me, he said welcome to Colombia buisness. The driver who met me at the airport drove me around in Zona Rosa until I found a hotel. Although I ended paying around 200k, I had a junior suite w breakfast and wi-fi and no companion fee as I make sure I had a matrimonial booking. However, it was double the money I orginally would have spent in my reservation with Bogotacasa. Aside from that, I had a fabulous time in Bogota.
