Posts: 44Need updated hotel info and prices for BOG
Guys, Californian in need of some help. I am reading through this forum but there doesn't seem to be a lot of updated info. Can anyone suggest 3* for about $75. This will be for the night before my departure. So maybe a place convenient for airport route but still close enough to do all the Bogota Touristy stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They have locations at different parts of the city. The one I stayed at is the "Dorms" which is located in Chapinero.
The place is safe, nice, very friendly staff. It was 120K per day for a studio, doable but I thought a bit pricey for what it was. Oh, breakfast included and reasonably close to Transmilenio.
I would not mind staying there again but I think I am going to try and find something in Candelaria next time.

This would be the closest thing to the Mansion.
If they are still open, the owner has not replied to a monger about a reservation.

Hey guys,
I would rather stay in apartament or studio instead of a hotel.
I have had some exchanges with places I have found in the web and on lists here. At least a couple of the places have left me wondering if I am not in for some kind of ripoff.
Does anyone know of a thread that details which places are BS or people not to do biz with?
Thanks!

Posts: 11Need 2 Bed Furnished Near Zona Rosa
I'll be in Bogota 8/26-9/5 with a friend on vacation. We'll hit some casas as well as work during the day (need wifi) and go out a bit at night.
Any suggestions? I thought of Zona Rosa because it seems to be popular, but we really just want a nice, comfortable apartment in a fun, busy location.
2 bedrooms, furnished, cheapish.

Salitre is mainly a residential zone, but during the last few years some of the nice (not so expensive) food chains (Wok, El Corral, Crepes & Waffles, etc.) have been opening restaurants in this area. There's even a Bogota Beer Company pub somewhere near, surely full of beautiful non-pros and good handcrafted draft beers.
The Gran Estacion mall has a huge food court on the top floor, and lots of eye candy, especially at noon, when many young girls who work in public and private offices around this area go to grab their lunch there.
But again, Corferias and this whole area seem to be far from the main hot spots of the local nightlife. Since you'll be in the Fair area by day, and riding cabs at night isn't such a good idea in Bogota, I'd advise you to look for lodging in an zone close to whatever it is you want to do at night, and pay cabs during the day.

At 55k for a single, the Hotel Americano just fits my budget and is near Sta Fe. http://www.hotelamericanobogota.com/index.html
Anybody know how friendly it is, chica fees, or any experience to help me? Any other cheap recommendations, other than youth hostels, are appreciated
