You get two gray check marks to know that it has been downloaded to the other person's phone, but they haven't read it yet. When they read it, the check marks turn blue so you know they have seen your message. Any advice on hiding Tijuana trip from wife?
Wife and I both use iPhone and we shared each other's location via "find my friends". On my last trip to Tijuana, I lied about having a business trip to San Diego. Also, I was able to connect my iPhone to a laptop and cheated my iPhone's location services so that I changed my sudo location to a legit place at San Diego. However, I probably cannot use the same trick every time. Do fellow mongers have a better way to hide Tijuana trip from wife?

In terms of phone usage with WhatsApp or other apps. I wanted to share for privacy it's easy to get a telcel sim card with it's own number and just use this for communication when your down in Mexico. I really don't like bringing my own cell phone down there that has my whole world on it etc. Plus mixing regular life in SD with mongering fun in Tijuana. It's just nice to keep those worlds separate if possible. There is a OXXO convenience store across street from HK that you can buy more time on your sim card when your down there. Also the speed is faster than your US based Verizon or Sprint etc.

WhatsApp allows for anonymous messaging. Your WhatApp number is different from your mobile; you are assigned a number much like google voice (just without the US gov reading / listening to you). When you sms / text, depending on your mobile provider, there is a detailed list of the numbers you messaged. With WhatsApp all messaging is done within the app and there is no trace, per se, of the communication.
