Do you do realize that a drug detecting dog making a false assertion about you possessing drugs is a bad thing? (not a good thing).
Or apparently a pack of spearmint gum, or a flavored condom, or a ripe peach will get you fingered also.
How many years before pot became legal did you witness this seizure of $8,000 and one joint on Amtrak?
Posters who don't get out much hate finding new information, they panic, start accusing everyone of lies. I've seen plenty of dogs jumping at peoples bags in NYC Penn station, because they smell that weed. And weed is not legal in USA as a whole. Even in California you can't have weed in many places or for many jobs. Amtrak will take anyone's cash, they assume your a drug dealership you have more than 300 cash on you. Again, if you don't know the whole amtrak the. E. A business arrangement you may not know that. And the dog was jumping at my bag because the hotel smelled of weed and my pillow absorbs air since it's a sponge pillow.
Don't allow any credibility to his posts. Most are obvious pure fiction. First, a detection dog will not go lick your hand. They also don't attack your bag like it's raw meat. Just the opposite, actually. The OP has many grand stories, citing 1,000 reasons he doesn't like Tijuana. Yet claims to be there for countless adventures that always end in problems.
If it's a 3-month old puppy, that means she acquired / bought it after HK closed. She might be sweet but she's for certain dumb as hell for taking on the expense of a dog during a pandemic that annihilated her earnings. But I no longer even attempt to make sense of the things that women do. A great modern day philosopher captured it best: "Don't try to understand Women. Women understand Women, and they hate each other".
Al Bundy.
LOL. Good one! Al Bundy was certainly a philosopher-king.

Drug sniffing dogs are trained in one of two manners. Passive, which means they just sit down when they encounter contraband. And aggressive, in which they literally attack the object in which they detect contraband. So yes, many dogs are trained to attack contraband "like it's raw meat."
A sweet HK girl in Tijuana text me. She's not making any money now so cannot afford to buy food for her 3-month old puppy. She has to put him up for adoption. It's a tragedy for this sweet girl.
She wrote: "Hi, I am giving my puppy up for adoption. He is three-month old. In my house they don't let me have it and due to the pandemic it costs me more to feed it. Do you know a good owner who can give it to them?"
She sent me this pic with a caption "it's a good dog."
If you know a good home for this puppy, please let me know and give me info where she can bring her puppy.

I prefer Uber not because I care about a nicer car, but because I can make the entire transaction electronically. No need to worry about having exact change, or haggling over a price, or having to tell the driver exactly where to be let off. Just enter your destination and the total is charged to your account. I don't care about leaving a digital footprint. I just order a car, get in, and arrive where I need to be without any hassle about having to break a 200 peso note or getting a gringo rate.
LOL. I was the clueless poster and Clam is right about comfort and privacy. I could care less if Verizon knows where I went in Tijuana. But some people this info is important so to each their own and be aware.
I do still take Taxi's but mix it up and do Uber as well. I also had a Taxi driver that scared me a bit (and I am no newbie to traveling around Tijuana in Taxi's or Uber's). Mentally he was going off very angry about his wife etc. He was a bit unhinged and really had me a bit worried. Now Uber drivers could be the same way yes!! Wife's can drive you crazy. Also I took a taxi from Rosarito to Tijuana and there was no working seat belt and he had issues getting the stick shift into some of the gears. (the car was a piece of shit). So again UBER has requirements they need to be newer cars so this can be good as well for longer trips etc.
Yes Uber and Didi have "minimum standards" and most of the time you get something decent, but a few times using Uber I've gotten broken down old hooptys. One guy had a raggedy car with a headlight out. This guy looked like a character straight out of the movie American Me or Blood In Blood Out. He spoke broken English he obviously learned in some gang infested California ghetto plus however many years he did in prison before being deported. The whole reason I called an Uber in the first place was to avoid the cops because I had a cannabis vape pen on me plus I was going to go get drunk, and I get picked up by some wiley cholo driving what feels like a getaway car. I felt like Dave Chapelle when he was stuck in the car with Wayne Brady.
FYI here's how good border patrol dog sniffers are. One night in adelitas hotel, which has no windows, I don't smoke anything, but that dog was all over me in the morning, licking my hand before I even saw the dog and going after my. Backpack like it had steak in it. Border patrol was shocked I had no weed he said.

First of all, let me tell you there are some extremely high post count veterans on here who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Some have responded to your post with complete nonsense. So let me tell you the unfiltered truth. You are correct in choosing taxi's over Uber if you want to leave as little of a digital footprint as possible. Some clueless poster may have recommended to you Uber because they are more "comfortable" but seriously do you fucking care whether you roll in a 2015 Corolla or a 2005 Sentra for 10 minutes, if it means leaving a traceable Uber footprint vs. A completely anonymous cash Taxi Libre? Sure you will save a buck using Uber, it will come in handy when you have to pay a divorce lawyer and alimony for the next 50 years once your covert activities are uncovered because you wanted to save a $1. And this is coming from someone who hates taxi's and hasn't taken one in 3-4 years.
And another thing, and I am by no means condoning this type of activity, but if you as a grown adult, decide to partake in some adult substances, then that is your choice. Those type of substances are readily available in Tijuana, and the legal consequences are negligible here. Get busted in Tijuana and with a $50 bribe you skate. Not so in the USA. And the process to obtain such substances in Tijuana is quite simple. Anybody claiming that you need to attain veteran status is just fucking clueless. Just about every mesero in any Zona bar can get you whatever you're looking for. Any rookie can ask a mesero. Just don't do anything stupid like front a sizeable amount of cash. The only risk you'll take is paying substantially over market value, which will still be less than a quarter of what you're used to paying in the states. If you do decide to partake, get it from the meseros. Don't buy off the street because it could be a set-up, either robbery or the dealer in cahoots with the cops.
Recently there are a lot more drug dealers on La Zona's streets even in day time, with very few buyers, unlike preCoVid time.
Wednesday afternoon there were 6 in front of hotel Edourado and Cascada. One guy hid his stash down an utility hole on the side walk.
In front of hotel Michoacan near the the School girl corner, there were 6 to 8 men and women standing, sitting on side walk or inside the store fronts. There were very few buyers that I could see. The dealers all looked hungry and desperate. One guy was asking me if I wanted a whole menu of all sorts of drugs. Damn. I walked away from him quickly. It was here that a woman dealer was gunned down in broad day light in front of every one. Don't hang out near dealers and get in their cross fire.
Clam brought up a good point that street dealers may be robbers, undercover LE ect. Setting up stings, too risky to buy any drugs from them. Even small amount of Marijuana is illegal per US and Mexico's federal laws. Dogs can sniff out drugs easily as cars wait at the border crossing. US guys who think they can bring down drugs to sell to partying guys and girls in La Zona are taking very big deadly risks. They will be competing against cartels' guys on their assigned turfs. Words spread around quickly on who are selling what, when, where. These guys have good chance of getting whacked.
Bring any drugs back and take a big chance of getting busted by CBP with 10 to 12 years in Fed Pen and huge legal expenses, their lives would be completely ruined. Just do whatever with the girls in the hotel room and hope you won't get busted or entrapped.

I also saw 1 drug dealer lose 8 grand cash on amtrak when the dog sniffed out his 1 joint sealed.
I wanted to have some real fun, so my plan was to ask around by networking with obvious American tourists that speaks Spanish until I scored some stuff. I first considered going to the famous HK bar everyone talks about but due to the current situation with the shit pandemic, I am on the fence, leaning towards visiting HK next time. I think it is smart to avoid large crowds for now. So I'm thinking just going on fuck binge for 8 hours straight with super powers from all the drugs in my system. Anyways, so you are saying I can ask like HK bar meseros? That is super dope, will make my life easier. I will definitely keep this in mind when I actually go to HK, and just focus on agencies for now.
I would just ask a mesero. That is the most reliable way to score whatever party enhancers you're looking for. Pick out a younger mesero and as he walks by order a drink from him. Order a drink from the same mesero once or twice more then ask about obtaining what you're looking for. Or find young, tatted, wild looking / acting putas and buy them a ficha or two. After a drink or two you can ask her if she has what you're looking for. Many times they'll have substances in their purse. But meseros are by far your most reliable option. Yeah they'll tack on a finder's fee to the price but they'll get you what you're looking for. If they want the cash up front, I wouldn't front them more than $20-$30, and make sure they see you taking a good look at their name tag before you hand over any cash.
Just don't fuck with the street dealers. Sure many are legit but some will want the cash up front then never return, or sell you diluted or fake product, be working with the cops to have you shaken down after the purchase, or worse.
