I have always stayed in the Deluxe King rooms facing the pool, usually on the 5th floor. The Corner Deluxe rooms are also nice.

As for pricing, my conclusion is that anything to do with logic in the Philippines is a fail.

    Central Park

Really enjoyed my two week stay at this hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the price is reasonable. Stayed in the standard / executive cheapest option, and there was enough room to accommodate all my visitors. No problems with hosting as many girls as I wished at any time of the day or night. Food was good, location great, and everything worked well. I think so far its my best valued hotel in AC.

You recommended La Teresita hotel in your above post.

I Googled it and have a couple of (Q's).

    1. Is it reasonable walking distance to Fields Avenue or is transportation required.

Hard to tell from the map.

    2. Does the hotel have lifts.

    3. Where do you put your valuables. In-room safe or at downstairs lobby?

You mentioned the kids are "troublesome" can you elaborate?

    Are you talking possible robbery?

    Thanks. TC.
Really? If you googled it you could easily have found the answers to your questions on Google Maps and the hotel's web site (except for the last one about the street kids).
It's about half a kilometer from Fields and the hotel has in-room safes and a lift.

Your link took me to a restaurant in Malta! Nevertheless, thanks for the restaurant reviews.

This link should take you to the AC Piccolo.

    Picolo Padre.

Has been mentioned a few times. Upscale and worth it. Dress to impress here.

    Excellent presentation and taste.

Thought I would add a couple of restaurant ideas into this thread a rather than get OT in the Angeles City thread.

Stayed in Deluxe room at 1300 php per day.

    Have all the basic requisites.

Coffee maker, all toiletries, 2 complimentary water bottle.

Have a good clean pool, but they close down at 8 pm.

    Good staff.

    Good Room.

    Moderate AC in the room.

Have the call into room when visitor leaving and arriving. Have a good doorman who is armed and always cheerfull.

They don't accept cards either and that's a big minus.

The path leading to hotel is a bit dark and seems like the kids are troublesome lots.

    Would repeat the stay.

    Interesting Restaurants

Here a couple of restaurants that are worth seeking out if you want to travel further afield.

    Herman the German.

Set in a garden atmosphere, off the main roads, run by Herman who will be speak to most guests, Romantic accordion player is sometimes a little creepy. Nice place to go for authentic German fare.

    Italian Cowboy.

Italian restaurant run by an Aussie guy. Most meals seem to include free wines.

Meals I have had there have been good.

The owner used to run / work at a butcher shop in Hensonville.

Yes, Cpt is good value, especially with 10% discount they give for cash, and can be even cheaper through Agoda. I don't think Queens do that discount. Personally I have used both and prefer Cpt, hotel and price.

Cash discount! +++ Save yourself the trouble and worry and just pick Queens hotel for your stay. You can't do better.

Central Park. Somewhat overpriced, but great room quality and location, also a very good rooftop bar / resto. Also full of filipinos having weddings and whatnot. Kind of funny sharing an elevator with a bunch of locals while you have a girl on your arm.

So my views on LGH after 5 nights in January, we'll it's still pretty nice and I would say it's not bad vfm, but must have seen better days. Staff are nice and friendly, even the guy who came to collect the mouse that fell out of the air con unit, still twitching! I can't help feeling that the rest of its family were still up there! It is a long way from the action, but there is a "free" mini bus service up to fields and back. No problem with bringing girls in, and call you when they leave. I took one down to get her a trike, and the doorman organised the minibus to take her home. Room was massive, clean and even had carpet on the floor, didn't see that anywhere else. I booked the grand suite room, through Agoda, and the total cost for 5 nights was 20,000 ps, with all the taxes. Just beware that this will add around 20% to quoted hotel rates. Would I stay again? I would, but it would be second or third choice after Central Park Tower and possibly Queens. Downsides? Getting a bit shabby, long way to Fields, though good exercise if you walk. Didn't see many guests either.

    AC Life.

Clarkton- 5-10 minute trike ride away from fields, but this can be a good thing if you want a refuge from the insanity and scum by walking street. Really awesome resto with a great buffet, some of the best food in AC. Suite and above rooms are some of the most spacious and nice in AC, with a really good bed. Any chick who complains about a 5 minute trike ride to get to your nice, quiet hotel should be laughed at and dumped immediately if she complains twice about "far away". Attached bar has some cuties, so does the KTV, just be warned that they will be hesitant to go back to your room at the hotel since the staff will see them. Takes a little persuading. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Penthouse. Mismanaged crapshoot, and very loud if you get a room on the wrong side of the street. Skip unless you can get an airbnb room here for half price (very common). The rooftop resto is terrible. Some of the worst food I have had in AC. Avoid at all costs. You will also be swamed by homeless children if you leave through the A. Santos exit.

ABC. Way too expensive, the rooms are overly glitzy and its actually on the cheesy side. The beds are nice at least. Skip unless you love blowing cash on hotel rooms. For some reason the security does not chase away Viagra peddlers and meth addicted homeless wandering around just outside the parking lot. For the price, I would expect a private military operation regularly street sweeping with automatic weapons in a 2 block radius. Whatever, it's the Philippines, hotel security loves encouraging beggers and methheads. They even throw change at them sometimes to 'go away' (hint: they just come back for change again, later). So fucking stupid.

AIRBNBs. Stay away from the dip shit trying to rent out 'sun and moon condotel' rooms, the dude is a total scammer and manages like 50% of the airbnb properties in AC. They are all garbage, 100%. Find stuff managed by Philippe, his rooms are always actually modernized and new. Always. Always. Always book just 1 or 2 nights first to take a look at the place. Do not under any circumstances book week / month in advance without seeing the quality of the room and neighborhood. Even get in touch with property owners and have them show it to you before you pay through airbnb. There are plenty of cheap gems in the area, and some really close by. Just don't give these people a dime until you know you aren't getting some shady Filipino style roach motel room that goes for 2 k pesos a month. Kandi tower rooms can also be a great deal, but fair warning it is actually pretty far away, and you have to run the gauntlet of beggers / locals if you plan to walk from there to fields.

    - Foreigner can expect 30 k-40 k monthly room cost for a modern style room with the "best" internet available, within walking distance to the action.

    - If you want to pay below this, expect a shit neighborhood, filipino style habitation, or some serious bullshit just waiting to fuck you over, like nosy security / staff or locals getting into your business. Maybe you can get a better deal on a nice place if you don't mind renting a car / bike and living further outside of the downtown area.

    - Think twice about renting from people who are going on vacation and expect you to house-sit for them. If you show up and some clown has a bunch of his own shit laying around everywhere, and a locked closet and a bunch of grody towels and used furnishings. Gtfo of there. Do not give these assholes a dime. Use your money to buy accommodation from actual hosts who provide actual host services. Lots of old pricks gouging renters and providing zero support or modern furnishings despite a premium price, and god help you if something happens to the place while you are staying there. They can and will blame you.

    Other good restos:

VFW post resto. Great american food, nice pub full of expats to shoot the shit with.

Banh Mi Something on fields- actually decent Vietnamese sandwiches and soups. Very small place though, so suggest takeout if you are claustrophobic.

Yu Fu In. The only "good" "Japanese" food in AC, quotes because its Philippines. A bit far away.

Looking around I found on Agoda that they are offering various LGH rooms at really low prices, with the cheapest under 2500 P.S. Per night (plus tax about 12%) and I ended up booking their Grand Suite for 5 nights at just 3100 per night total including taxes.

Just wonder if anyone knows why this would be so cheap, for what must be one of the best hotels in AC? Anyway I'm looking forward to trying it out, there will be reports!
