The best Bar Manager in AC (Martin) mentioned a new hotel just past ABC think it was about 5 floors owned buy a young guy.
Would like to try it out could someone give its name.
Have stayed before at the ABC what a great hotel for US$100 quality throughout and the Pacific Breeze US$57 - 85 a poor quality hotel (the whole bathroom would cost less than just the ABC's Bath taps (Groche) very loud noise all night from other rooms and others plumbing also American manger has a ego problem but other wise very nice staff.

Posts: 4567Yes, it is. It jumps to 4,400 for a better room. The bed is very comfortable and the strategically placed mirror is nice. Pacific Breeze seems to only have annex rooms whenever I check. ABC still starts at US99 according to a sign out front.
I like the pool and pool area at Wild Orchid. This justifies the higher price for me. ABC has a rather small pool.
I checked out the Savannah Resort Hotel as well. It's fairly new and has a decent sized pool. The junior suite I looked at had an awesome jacuzzi bath. Price 3,600. Like the Clarkton, the location is a bit far from go-go central.

On my trip last month I stayed at the Clarkton in the remodeled Studio 1 suite for 3250P a night. The room was very nice and I liked the setup of the room. Free WiFi and balcony over looking the pool. Compared to the LG, this hotel is customer friendly and service was great. The breakfast buffet is the best that I have had in the PI. Also, I liked having Mirrors in the hotel for that last stop prior to going to the room. They are open until 3 am.

Posts: 4567American Hotel / EuroAsia Hotel
EuroAsia Hotel, formerly Europhil has been remodeled since last time I was there. I took a look around, but didn't go inside any rooms. There seem to be a new banquest room at the back, but I'm not sure if anything else has really changed. I seem to remember some rooms don't have windows, which is a big turnoff for me. Everything looked newish and clean and they do have a swimming pool.
America Hotel. There are six rooms at the back with balconies overlooking the pool. These are good value in my opinion.
Most of the rooms are very spacious. Some have strategically placed mirrors. The tiny cashier is as cute as a button.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit there was a disaster. The pool water was cloudy. My bathroom had no toilet seat. They didn't clean my room the second day. If I had known of the discounted rates at Wild Orchid I wouldn't have stayed the second day. My recommendation is give America a pass unless you really need a swimming pool at a relatively low price. My room was almost 1500 including the VAT.

Posts: 4567Currently staying at Wild Orchid AC, where their Deluxe room (smallish, no balcony, window with view of a wall) are discounted to 3000 for the rest of August because of rainy season. The staff are very friendly, making the occasional glitch easier to bear.
You'd expect a place named "wild...." would be girl friendly and it is. I was chatting with one of the bar / restaurant staff and she mentioned that the staff can go swimming after their work.
Shortly thereafter I saw three unaccompanied lasses wading into the pool while wearing some very fetching bikinis. Foolishly, I though, maybe, just maybe, these were off duty staff. I asked the lady at the bar, "Who are they?".
She didn't bat an eyelash as she said, "somone's barfine"

Posts: 1290I think a non-girlfriendly hotel in AC would be bankrupt within weeks.
Even no need to open such a hotel at all.
Had a Executive room in LGH recently and so true, it's not the problem to get the girls in the hotel, it's more the problem to get them out in the morning!
Cheers!

Is the Lewis Grand Hotel girl-friendly? Please advise. This will be my first time to AC. And also the Philippines for that matter.

Stayed here on my first trip based on positive comments. It's as others have reported - new (opened last October), clean, quiet a few streets back, a minute or two to a lot of the bars, friendly and helpful staff (especially Lady during the day - acts like you made her day just by showing up and asking her a question. Jen at night is great, too.) Two Australian brothers own the place and seem like great guys.
I was there for about five days earlier in the month, and I returned for a few nights passing through the next week. I'd recommend a friend to at least check it out. The promo rate mentioned in earlier posts didn't seem available (said a 10% discount if staying a week), but then I came in off the street and didn't do any emails beforehand. I needed flexibility.
