    Eddie

I just didn`t get that kind of service by the pool. I tipped them well when I payed my bill every time. Still the same thing the next day and the next etc.
Well I think I must try to stay in the hotel and I would also recieve the poolservice. PB

I will have to second this opinion about slow and unfriendly service in pool area. Maybe you have to become a friend or something with the staff first? I have stayed in PB couple of times and liked rooms and swiming pool.

    Primo bolan,

I stay at pacific breeze and central park many time already get very good service by all the staff there, Pacific breeze is a new hotel and room are larger and better than central park, this is AC not Manila or Hong Kong so don't think you will get 5 star service here.

The reception girl alway say good morning to me by my first name and tell me good evening when I bring girl back may be they just like handsome man.

Donald Paul Apartelle - very dodgy! Savannah/Valentino's v good

Following is a copy of my post back in Feb on the hotels I stayed at. Thought it was worth reposting here in the hotels section. Sorry, should have posted it here a long time ago, but sometimes I'm lazy! :)

Valentino's & Savannah very enjoyable. Donald Paul Apartelle very dodgy

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I stayed in Savannah for two weeks and Valentino's for one week last month and really enjoyed both hotels. I actually liked not having a lift as it forced me to do a little exercise. I stayed on the top floor and it was a nice little walk up the stairs.

If you like a few drinks at night or don't want exercise, then stay at one of the bottom rooms.

The owner (another Aussie) and all the staff were very friendly and professional - and the reception girls were honeys too!

I stayed in the first night in the same sort of room as in ur pic, then transferred to one of the balcony rooms. It was nice to get that extra space and really nice to sit on the balcony with a drink at night looking out over to Fields. The location is great. Convenient but still very quiet.

I have no idea how long the promo rates will stay.

I was happy to have found good hotels after my horrible experience when I first arrived on a Saturday night at Donald Paul Apartelle only to be told there was no booking for me and the hotel was full - and that was after many confirmation emails from them and me! It was a real pain trying to find a hotel late on Saturday night.

It was particularly annoying that the Donald Paul didn't reply to my email after that date or contact me (I gave them my filipino cell number and asked them to call me the next day).

So the moral of the story is stay at well run hotels like Valentino's and Savannah, and avoid the dodgy places like Donald Paul Apartelle.

    Robb,

Yes they don't discount for long stay, they don't need to they are always full and they are the best hotel in AC with good locations, there are few older hotel in the area or premiter area that will offer discount for long stay.

    Walk-in vs Reservation?

In planning my trip (July 24-31) I am hoping to spend some time in Angeles, some time in Subic Bay, and maybe some time elsewhere too. I'd like to have the freedom to just zip over to Angeles when the mood strikes and stay for a couple days - any ideas about availability of 'walk-ins' in the Balibago area? Does the price jump significantly if there is no reservations?

Just an idea, anyway. If bros think it's foolish to arrive without reservation, I'll plan more specifically.

Still hoping to pal around with some of you revelers while I am there...

My two recent email responses, No deals at this Property..

    Hi ,

Thanks for your email and for inquiring about reservations at the Pacific Breeze Hotel. Here is the rate for three weeks stay for two executive rooms.

Executive rooms at $57/night = $114 (for 2 rooms) x three weeks (21 days) = $2,394 (for two rooms) All prices are quoted in $USD and are inclusive of all service charges and taxes. The rates do not include any meals. Should you need additional information, please feel free to contact me again. We hope that you'll make the Pacific Breeze part of any future visits to the Philippines.

    Hi,

Sorry that we cannot offer you a better deal. We understand that everyone has a budget and that we are not always able to satisfy everyone. Our discount policy allows for discounts of 10% off lodging for bookings of 30 consecutive days or more. We do not offer organizational type discounts or discount to lesser duration stays. We understand that many of the other hotels (specifically Wild Orchid and ABC) do offer discounts in order to attract guests. However, they are priced higher than us and even with their discounts you would be paying more to stay at one of those hotels. Our policy has always been to keep it simple by offering affordable, value priced lodging to all guests without the need to negotiate. That way everyone pays the same rates without worrying about whether or not you could have negotiated a better deal.

Again, we understand and respect your decision. We hope that you have a very nice visit to Angeles.

    Annie

THIS SEEMS HIGH FOR A SMALL "DATED" ROOM.

    Month Long stay

I stayed at the Sun Moon last summer and am returning again this July for a monthes stay. The Wi-FI worked well and although the room was small it did it's job well. I also got a quote from the Don Paul Apartelle a new place that looked good with a pool for 23K for a month just down santos street from the Wild Orchid and was wondering if anyone had any word on it?

    Month long stays

I just researched this very question last week. There are a few options.

The Sun Moon hotel has rooms in their annex for 13k ($280 USD?) pesos per month. I saw the room and it was ok, kind of small. Cable TV and apparently they have WiFi as well, or so they say.

The Clark Star Hotel has rooms for 10k ($210 USD?) pesos a month but they are kind of spartan and it is located on First Street, away from the "Entertainment district".

The Airmes Hotel accross from the Ponderosa (I think) was fairly nice with pool, I think the guy quoted me 22k pesos a month, less if you don't want cable TV.

There are a few others I checked out that ranged from 16k-24k pesos per month, Standard rooms of course. Most places have monthly discounts, but some of them are only 10% off their posted rates, which I think is a real rip off.

Of course, the farther away you get from Fields, the cheaper it gets. I personally wouldn't want to stay of Fields though, it would be too much sleeze for me.
