    http://www.worldstandards.eu/electri...ge-by-country/

    Philippines is 220 V.

Most/all laptop and camera chargers should be variable (where it takes both 110 and 220 - read the label on the charger).

Most decent hotels in the Philippines will have the sockets in which it will accept both the round and flat plugs.

The answer is yes ... if you have a device that only accepts 110 V, then you need a converter.

    It ain't Joe Kano.

"I don't know the power requirements for my electronics." Well, look at them. Almost all, but NOT all, portable consumer electronics are dual voltage / dual hertz. You see a label on which is printed: 100 - 240 V 50/60 Hz? You're good2go anywhere. Laptops, mobiles, tablets, cameras, etc. are most often dual voltage. You bringing a hair drier, electric razor, nose hair clippers, vibrator, lawnmower, refrigerator, etc? The Philippines is 220 V 60 Hz, and a simple google would have told you this. If you want to know specifically about the ABC Hotel your best point of contact is, well... you ought to have guessed it... the ABC Hotel. http://angelesbeachclubhotel.com/contact.php

Thank you very much Rubio and D Cups. Have decided to split up my stay between the two to try both of them.

    Thanks again.

Most hotels, I keep one pocket with only 50 p bills (or about the effective equal in whatever local currency) and hand them out like a used car salesman hands out business cards.

The money is nothing to me but over time it can add up for the poor guy doing the heavy lifting.

Small cost for having some friends in low places at the hotels.
Totally agreed, these small equivalent amounts would mean nothing to us, the accumulation some day pays off for the locals who in return will pay us back with gratitude in various forms including reliable customer service.

    KG,

I totally agreed with you. I only suggest tipping as quite a few posters here have a "no tipping" policy. Personally I tip the room cleaner P50 a day and the doorman / security guys something every few days. A few times I had girls coming to the hotel without trike money and I would pay the trike when they arrived. The security guy would advance the trike payment so I wouldn't have to come down from the room! Like you said, it is good to have friends in low places.

Most hotels do store your bag (s). The only question is if they will charge you for it, most larger hotels in larger cities are charging now. I have stored my bags for up to a week to travel lighter, when I have left for Cebu and come back to AC. One time I purchased a couple 20" x 30" paintings boxed up for check-in luggage and the hotel stored it for me for over a week free of charge.

Pacific Breeze has done it for me. They just put it under the stairs by the desk.
