Termas Busted?

I have a problem with Rio if they bust Termas and only arrest Blacks yankees. Now if they are trying to get higher payout so be it. I always assume that the termas pay off gov't or high ranking cops to aviod this BS. It seems more like they might be try to monopoly the termas to only the ones that pay off well. I will be Rio in 2 weeks and being a military Officer; I can not afford the deportating process. I would like to know if anyone know which termas have deep pockets to make the cops happy or I will go to DR. Rio is not worth going too for just help, cheap thermas and call girls.

Can anyone confirm what has and has not been raided? It looks like for sure Centarus and RioAntiga were raided and closed, for at least a day or two. She assured me that 4x4 would never be raided, as they pay big money to the police.

Anybody have any news on this? Who is next on the raid list.

I am only worried abit about my personal belongings, as I would think if you go to jail in Rio, your personal effects, (phone , CC, etc) could be at serious risk of disappearing for ever? Rio Police " What personal property".

These recent reports of police raids are most distressing indeed. (Even the police closure of Centaurus is not something to celebrate.) I had always thought that the well-established Rio termas were a safe haven and exempt from this type of police activity. Does anyone understand what's really going on? Recent posts have suggested that the police are rabble-rousing for higher pay/payoffs. Could there be something else at play here? Perhaps a government crackdown on the sex trade? Does anyone know if there is a historical precedent in Rio for this type of harassment?

I'm sad to announce that I read in a brazilian forum that termas Centaurus was closed down today by the police.

However, it seems that they're going to reopen March 31st.

Good news on the exchange rate front today. With the fed boosting interest rates again today, the dollar has gotten much stronger today against most foreign currency, most noteably the Brazilian Real.
