Where I live (MIA) you can now get a beautiful brazilian escort for roughly the same price as I am seeing quoted on this board in the past 5 months, without paying for a ticket and visa.

Even if you were to pay top dollar at Help for a beautiful girl all night to sleep with you and do anything you want for 12 hours it is 300 reals or about $130 dollars. I don't think you can get a Brazilian girl in MIA for all night at $130. The cheapest you can get is maybe $200 an hour for a freelance full service. Thats a big difference and if you take it down a notch a really nice girl at Help can be had for 200 reais all night which is about $86 a night, you couldn't get a hand job in Miami for that price.

If one looks back 2 yrs proir on this forum, they would see many post of men defending their exuberant tipping, spouting wierd quotes such as "I'm only one person, my overpaying won't change the current pricing" low and behold enough of these jerks were around that it seem that I won't be able to afford to go back and live it up and enjoy myself. .

First of all you must take into consideration that the dollar was much stronger 2 years ago then it is today, the dollar is not weaker as the result of any jerks, it is by design. Are the girls asking for and getting much more reals than 2 years ago or just more dollars, I think the problem is more dollars and not reals. Pretty much girls in Help for example are asking for about the same amount of Reals they were several years ago. When the dollar was fetching 3.5 - 4 reals a 200 reais all nighter in dollars was $57 today it is about $86, the problem is the dollar.

I have been once. I was invited by some girls to favela to participate this kind of party. Yes there is a lot of beautiful girls, but they were out of my reach. Guys are running around with all kinds of guns and they made it perfectly clear that there is NOTHING for me over there.

Until other professionals in Brazil recieve a 200% income increase, I think we should keep the prices where they were. I think we will create undeserved hatred from The citizens of Rio for creating such a pricing imbalance, while locals still pay less, it is only a matter of time until all the beauties do tourists exclusively and leave the undesirables for the locals. Maybe it has been reported before, but I wanted to let the budget conscious traveler know before he packed his bags for Rio, that Help entrance fees have gone up. Now, R$22 before 12:00 and R$32 after.

I've been in rio since sunday and it seems prices have gone up 200% since my last visit in June 2005. Even mediocre looking girls in help are asking R$400. One GP even patronized me with a R$100 `discount` for R$300. Another was indignant that I had countered with R$150. Needless to say I passed on all offers I went home by myself. Apparently, there are people (supposedly Americanos) paying these prices as I saw girls leaving with guys.

Two new termas opened in Nov. Terma Bononia (sp) is located in Copa (sorry don't have an address). This place is located 2 blocks past Luomos. If you walk past the shopping ctr to the second street (make right from Figuero magalhaes or left from Sigueiro Campos) its in the middle of that block across the street. I visited this place once and was not impressed with the garota quality, compared to the others, but the price was good (170-180r? for 40mins). It might have improved a little by now, but its worth checking out.

The second is terma cancun in centro it closer to 65 on rua carmo (which is the nearest small cross street by 65) by rua setembro (which is about two blocks from 65 opposte the direction to 4x4). There is a big sign in front that says Manhattan. If you are a 4x4 regular the ex 4x4 doorman will be out front. This place has nice rooms and mostly former 4x4 girls. They have the same price as 4x4. This place is still developing but is pretty decent and less crowded than 65 and 4x4.

El Austriaco are dead on in my opinion. Lived a year and a half in Rio. First two months I stayed in Copa because this is what I was familar with. Once I discovered centro I never went back to monger there. Spent almost everyday in centro so I know for a fact that many of the girls that work in the day there, go to help at night. They go hoping to hit a home run with a gringo for 300R. You can have them in the day for 30R. Since I wanted to monger everyday I did not want to pay 200-300R.

If you have the time I suggest you give centro a try, although El Austriaco is right in that you need some language skills. The O'Dia newspaper on Monday's has a good classified section. You will see many adds for prives and apartments for 20-30R (centro is filled with them). There are also some mid-level ones for around 50-60R. Again, this is my experiance and centro may not be for everyone, every monger has there own style. I just hate to see these girls (at help, etc.) asking and getting 300R. Hope this helps.
